Hakan N., blinded by rage. Kadimov suffering elevated anxiety.
Dr. Vamık Kadimov (66) works in the infectious diseases section of
Karadeniz Technical University Hospital in Trabzon. A fellow doctor,
Hakan N., who works at the Beşirli 1 No. Family Health Center and
his wife Ayşegül N., an engineer, got upset when Kadimov opened the
elevator door in their apartment with too much force for their taste (!).
An argument ensued, with Hakan N. beating Kadimov and breaking
a rib and 3 fingers on Kadimov's left hand. At the hearing for the case,
Hakan N. asserted that he only defended himself and his wife when
Kadimov used pepper spray on them. The judge ruled that Hakan N.
will serve a jail sentence of 4 years 6 months for injuring Kadimov
and pay a fine of 3,000 TL for insulting him. Ayşegül N. was sentenced
to 6 months in jail for threatening Kadimov and fined 3,000 TL for
inflicting injury and insult, although her penalties were postponed
for 5 years.

"Hey, shouldn't there be a door there?"
In Kırıkhan district of Hatay province, thieves who broke into the
office of the village chief stole the steel door when they couldn't find
anything else worth taking. When Uğur Sarıfakıoğulları, chief of
Gündüz village for the past 8 years, came to his office the next
morning he was stunned and saddened to find his office door gone.
Kırıkhan district is on the Syrian border in eastern Hatay.
