Slow night at the precinct house. Let's raid something!
Although the use of electronic cigarettes is increasing each day,
police in Istanbul conducted a raid on an 'electronic cigarette party'.
In Turkey the sale of electronic cigarettes is forbidden so when the
'electronic cigarette party' was announced on social media police
took notice.
The organizers of the party rented the top floor of a restaurant on
Istiklal Avenue in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul and advertised
the free party, complete with models in attendance, as follows:
"Vape Party Istanbul - Turkey's first electronic cigarette party.
Unlimited drinks and atomizers free!"
The party took place on 17 September and police raided it soon
after it began, with the three organizers taken into custody based
on law number 5607 that protects the health of citizens. The 800
people who attended the party will be fined for 'smoking cigarettes
in a confined area (!)'.
