Hitchhiker's guide to oblivion.
On 4 July in Adana, Neslihan Apa (36) disappeared while hitchhiking.
The next day her husband İlker Apa contacted police, who looked at
video from the area and determined that Neslihan hanım had boarded
a TIR (tractor trailer). When the TIR reached Kocaeli, 900 kilometers
away, police got in contact with the trucking firm and learned that the
driver was Doğan Yıldırım.
Police found blood stains in the truck at an auto park and Yıldırım was
taken into custody. Yıldırım confessed to the murder, saying that he
had picked up Neslihan hanım on the premise that they would have
sex for money. The two argued and Yıldırm stabbed Neslihan hanım
to death, wrapping her body in a blanket and ultimately throwing the
body in field in Gebze district of Kocaeli. Once police forensics lab
officials verified that the body was that of Neslihan hanım, Yıldırım
was arrested for murder.

Murder 101: change your clothes after the murder (!).
The mystery of a vicious murder in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul, has
been solved. The incident occurred in a farm house, where Rukiye
Balcı (61) and her Georgian gardener İmaverdi Kazımovi (51) were
bludgeoned to death with a sledge hammer.
Police pursued a citizen of Turkmenistan who had started work at
the farm on the day of the incident wearing an orange and green jacket
but whose name was not known. Police tracked Balcı's missing
cellphone to a store in the Fatih district of Istanbul, where police asked
the store owner to describe the person who had sold him the cellphone:
"he was wearing an orange and green jacket and he had scratches on his
face."
Soon afterwards, police picked up suspect Gurtgeldi K., who told police
that "I worked in the field the whole day. At nightfall, since I didn't have
any place to go to I asked if I could stay with them. They said no and we
argued."
