In the end, he needs an archeologist, not a plumber.
In Adana's Hamamköyü village, Serkan Biçer began to dig up
a toilet hole in back of his house and after digging a meter down
encountered colored stones. Thinking that he may have struck an
historic treasure, Biçer contacted the Gendarmerie.
Archeologists from the Adana Museum Directorate accompanied
Gendarmerie soldiers to the site and determined that the mosaic
was about 1,600 years old, from the Roman period. A camera
system was set up to keep watch over the site and a team of
experts will come to examine a quarter-acre plot in the coming
days.
Those Romans were inveterate mosaic-makers!
