Residence was supposed to be personalized, but they got
Azeem's name wrong!
In Istanbul, Afghan Muhatap Hauste borrowed 30,000 TL
(about $7,500) from his friend Zebiullah Mücaid (25), who
also collects paper to make a living. A while later, Mücaid
wanted his money back. Hauste, though, said he didn't have
any money and, instead, pointed to his friend, Pakistani
Azeem Akbar (25), and said "his family is rich. Take him
hostage and demand a ransom." (!)
So, on 3 May Mücaid and five friends kidnapped Akbar
and locked him in a cargo container. Mücaid then called
Akbar's family in Pakistan and demanded a ransom of
$20,000. The family, though, informed Istanbul police
about the situation. The police went to the Waste Collection
and Storage Center and showed people there Akbar's photo.
Because of his suspicious behavior, Mücaid was taken into
custody. Akbar was set free and sent back to Pakistan.
Mücaid, Parti Mishapır, Muhatap Hauste, Nebiullah Nisar
and İsmetullah Zakirullah were arrested.
Garbage in, garbage out.
