Guns + Women = Tragedy, over and over again, daily.
In Tekirdağ, Hayati Darıcı (45) accidentally shot and killed his
sister-in-law's daughter while he was reloading his revolver.
Selin Buse Balcı (21) was visiting Darıcı's house at the time of
the incident. When Balcı's former fiancé arrived at the house an
argument erupted.
In order to scare the unwanted fiancé, Darıcı went out on the
balcony and fired his gun into the air. He then came back in the
house, but as he was reloading his gun it went off, hitting Balcı
in the back. The young woman was taken to a hospital, where
she died. Darıcı was taken into custody and arrested for causing
a death by negligence.

Beauty and The Beast
In Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, Seher Çetintaş (34), the mother of
two children, got divorced 5 months ago. At her job at a textile
factory, Çetintaş had to continually rebuff advances from her
co-worker Ahmet Kalender but Kalender persisted, harassing
and threatening Çetintaş.
At one point, Kalender gave Çetintaş a black eye and referred
threateningly to her children. Çetintaş, though, was too scared
to go to the police. In an effort to convince Kalender to leave her
alone the two met at a café in Küçükçekmece the evening
before last. Çetintaş told Kalender "leave me and my family
alone. I don't want to see you ever again."
After Çetintaş left the café, Kalender followed her out to the
street and shot her multiple times, killing her on the spot.
A policeman sitting in the same café heard the gunshots and
captured the fleeing Kalender, who was then taken to jail.
Küçükçekmece is in the center of the map, on the shore.
