Google recruiting Abdullah D. to test self-driving cars.
Traffic police in Afyonkarahisar stopped a suspicious vehicle and
asked driver Abdullah D. (31) for his license and registration. That's
when the police noticed that Abdullah D. has two prosthetic hands. (!)
Asked whether he has a doctor's report allowing him to drive,
Abdullah D. responded that "I applied for one many times but still
haven't gotten one."
Abdullah D. lost his hands in an electrical accident in 2007. He
explained that "I've been driving for 11 years like this. I'll apply
for a drivers license as soon as possible. What I have done up to
now is not right." He was fined 2,050 TL (about $500) for driving
without a license and endangering others. The owner of the vehicle
Abdullah D. was driving was fined 2,150 TL for giving a vehicle
to an unlicensed driver.
Afyonkarahisar province.

This hopeless romantic was thinking sequel all the time...
M.G. (17) works as a driver's assistant for a bus company in Istanbul.
Three days ago he fell madly in love with a girl on his bus and
decided to kidnap her as his bride (!). Two days ago, in Tuzla,
Istanbul, M.G. stole a passenger bus belonging to Mehmet Gül and
yesterday at 1 o'clock in the morning at a gas station on the
Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir highway he stopped for gas, evidently
en route to kidnapping the girl.
The bus was empty and M.G., explaining that he had no money,
asked to pay for the gas on credit. The gas station attendants
found this situation odd (!) and informed the Gendarmerie, who
came and took M.G. into custody. M.G. was later released,
pending trial, and the bus was returned to its owner.
M.G. stole the bus in Tuzla and headed south across the bridge.
