Curses! Foiled again!
Human traffickers are using some remarkable techniques.
Refugees caught at the pier at Pendik, Istanbul, were wrapped
in aluminum foil (!). Customs officials stopped a TIR (tractor-
trailer) in the Ro-Ro (roll on/roll off) section of Pendik port that
was taking goods from Turkey to Italy. The X-rays taken by
police reflected a suspicious clump in the trailer so the vehicle
was taken aside and opened for inspection.
Inside, wrapped in aluminum foil to blunt the X-ray search, were
Iraqis Bako Mohammed A. (17), Dahan H. (23), Garmian
Mohammad A. (26), Chalak Ömer M. (21), Karwan Nuri A. (30)
and Sadq S. (19). The Iraqis were arrested and a search of the
trailer found no signs of any contraband. Driver Eyüp M. is
being investigated.

Next time, they'll wrap themselves in aluminum foil.
A group of 43 Syrians and Afghans attempting to cross the
Aegean Sea to the Greek islands were spotted by a drone
with night-vision capabilities near Didim, in Aydın province.
The refugees were picked up by the Coast Guard and brought
back to Turkey.
