In happier times, before the last supper.
In Nazilli district of Aydın province, Tülin Duran (46) turned over the
home deed left to her by her late mother to her older brother Birol
Karakılıç and then got 62,000 TL in credit from a bank. With the
money Tülin hanım rented a store on Hürriyet Avenue and began
selling kitchen goods. Her husband Mustafa Duran contributed some
money to the project as a partner.
Soon afterwards, the couple argued and Tülin hanım moved to her
llate mother's home in the İstiklal neighborhood, together with her
daughter Tuğçe Duran (24), and filed for divorce. The morning
before last Mustafa bey noticed that the goods in the store were
being removed so he assumed that his wife and her relatives were
defrauding him of his share in the store.
When just one 'pompalı tüfek' doesn't get the job done...
Mustafa bey filed a complaint with the police but when he went
home in the evening he found that the door lock had been changed.
Mustafa bey then went by car to Tülin's late mother's home where
she and Tuğçe were living with his brother-in-law, taking two
'pompalı tüfek' (pump-action rifles) with him.
While the family was having dinner in the garden, Mustafa bey
opened fire on Tülin, Tuğçe, brothers-in-law Birol (48) and Bekir
Cihan Karakılıç (50), their wives Serpil (43) and Emine Özlem
(45) Karakılıç , his niece Şükran Karakılıç (25) and neighbors
Filiz (38) and Mehmet (41) Kahya. As a result, Birol and Bekir
Cihan Karakılıç, Filiz and Mehmet Kahya and Emine Özlem
Karakılıç died. Among the injured, Tuğçe and Şükran remain
in critical condition.
