Belt-tightening? Governor Tightens His VIP Seat Belt

  Mobilizing comfort to ease the burden of command.

Kütahya Governor Ahmet Hamdi Nayir has had the Mercedes
minibus belonging to the governorship refitted from top to bottom.
The interior of the vehicle has been outfitted with leather chairs,
inlaid wood, a sound system and a TV, at a cost of 100,000 TL, by
the Mobil Dizayn firm.


Kütahya's citizens wondered most about the choice of
colors...

The firm shared photos of the newly refurbished vehicle with the
governor inside on social media, but quickly removed the photos
because of negative reactions.  Citizens were outraged and
commented that "while everyone is trying to rescue the country
from this foreign exchange crisis, the governor is busy refitting
his VIP minibus!"  Saadet Party's Ayaş district chief Cengiz
Zeyrek noted that "the country is being attacked by external
forces but the Kütahya governor thinks only about his VIP van!"

The governor's office had no comment. (!)
