Islamic Economy Edition: Pray For a Bike, Then Sell It

                        Holy velocipedes!

In Konya, the Islamic officials organized a project to encourage
young people to pray by rewarding them with bicycles.  Some
44,400 children who prayed in the morning for 40 days were awarded
bicycles but most of the winners put the bikes up for sale on the
internet (!).  The cost of the project was 24 million TL (depending
on the exchange rate at the time, the equivalent of some millions
of dollars.)
