Up to now, he'd led a charmed life.
On 16 October, police in Adana mounted an operation
against a gang that made sales of damaged cars that they
learned about from press reports to third parties, posing
as insurance company officials. In the morning raid
conducted by police, 20 people were taken into custody -
4 of them women and 1 of them a child (!).
The gang hoodwinked 20 citizens and collected 200,000
TL with their scheme. With the money, the gang hired
VIP minibuses, spent the money at bars and lived in
lakeside villas. The gang also hired mediums to cast
spells on the police, who found hair and thread in the
form of buttons in charms and jars during their raid.
Gang leader Okan Atlas had gone to the medium in order
to avoid capture by the police. Subsequently, Atlas had
Niyazi Aydın (45), who joined the gang, make charms
for 1,500 TL. Of those taken into custody, Atlas and two
others were arrested and the other 17 people were
released.
Maybe if you'da put a police uniform on it...
