Dr. Feyzullah Hasanoğlu, the head doctor at the Devrek
State Hospital in Zonguldak province, bought a house
nearby and moved in. But modifications being made to the
house prompted Hasanoğlu to move his family to a hotel
for the time being.
However, when the modifications went on longer than
expected, Hasanoğlu took his family out of the hotel and
moved himself and his wife and two children into a
private room in the maternity ward of his hospital (!).
Maternity ward residence: perhaps anticipating
another family member?
Observers complained to the Provincial Health Directorate
that Hasanoğlu was using the hospital room as his own
home. An inquiry was begun and two inspectors went to
the hospital, after which provincial health director Ertuğrul
Güner announced that a disciplinary investigation had
commenced.
