Dad not quite ready to celebrate his great test score.
Kevin and Candice Jackson came from Chicago to Izmir,
claiming that millionaire Kasım Pırlant was their father.
The results of a DNA test became known yesterday and
put the likelihood that Pırlant is the Jackson siblings'
father at 99% (!).
Pırlant (63) bought a plane ticket for $100 in 1973 to
chase his dreams in the USA. He began by working as a
waiter in Chicago but within 15 years he owned 9
shopping centers and three companies, becoming a
certified millionaire. Pırlant returned to Izmir in 2005
and purchased the Mavişehir Egepark, Balçova Egepark
and Konak Pier shopping centers.
While in Chicago, Pırlant had a relationship with
co-worker Carolyn Jackson that resulted in two children -
Henry Kevin (30) and Candice (36). Their mother had
told them that their father was a 'Greek shipowner' who
abandoned the family. When Carolyn died in 1999, the
children wanted to find their father and found out the
name Kasım Pırlant from their mother's friends.
The Jackson Two
Kevin and Candice came to Izmir last month and met
with Pırlant, who rejected their fatherhood claims. He
would not agree to a DNA test but an estranged brother
provided a DNA sample, allowing the test to be done.
The test result was 99% positive with regard to Pırlant's
fatherhood but a court will render the final decision.
Kasım Pırlant's son Zafer died in a traffic accident in
Chicago (!) on 11 February 2012 at the age of 24.
Pirlant also has a daughter. He suffered a stroke last
summer and has trouble speaking. Pırlant's lawyer
Oktay Cerit declared that "Kasım Pırlant is being
ravaged by baseless, unjustified and unsupported
slanders." (!)
No Way! (right?...)
