"Maybe there is some hope for you humans after all..."
In Afyonkarahisar, a puppy that fell into a 3-meter deep drainage well
was rescued by AFAD (search & rescue). The incident occurred in the
town of Yaylabağı in İhsaniye district, which is the province's thermal
spa area. Yelps coming from the warm water drainage well prompted
citizens to inform the İhsaniye Gendarmerie Command.
A Gendarmerie team arrived at the scene and tried to retrieve the puppy
but could not. AFAD's provincial directorate was informed and an
AFAD rescuer was lowered into the well, which would only
accommodate one person because of its narrowness. In any event,
the AFAD rescuer soon emerged from the well with the puppy in his
hands. The puppy was found to be in good condition and was released
in a safe place.
Meanwhile, in Şanlıurfa, a dog named 'Boncuk' fell into a 5-meter-deep
excavation and was rescued by firefighters there. Boncuk refused to
leave the side of the firefighter who spent a long time trying to free the
pooch.
