"Please, send us back to Siberia!!"
In Konya in December 2015, Altan Ada (47) was evicted from the
villa he had lived in with his girlfriend Yasemin Y. for 5 years without
paying any rent. Ada resisted eviction, threatening to explode a
tube gas container and smashing the walls with a sledgehammer.
Police cornered Ada in the garden and took him into custody. Ada's
17 Siberian Wolfhounds (!) were sent to an animal shelter.
The incident occurred in Selçuklu district's Sille Ak neighborhood.
Ada had rented the villa from Cihan Ceren, who lives abroad, in
2010 but never made any rent payments.
Talks underway with Putin to have him serve out
his sentence in Siberia.
//Ed. Note: Ada went back to prison 5 months ago, leaving
25 Siberian Wolfhounds to be cared for.//

TLC for a beauty.
In Konya, when Altan Ada went back to prison 5 months ago his
25 Siberian Wolfhounds were left without proper care and 10 of
them died in a shelter. But thanks to the initiative of Ümit Sürmeli,
the head of the Konya Nature and Wildlife Protection Association,
a mini-shelter has been made for the remaining 15 dogs on city land
in the Sille neighborhood.
Who needs Ralston Purina?!
Students from the nearby Konya Şehir Koleji high school are
collecting leftovers from their meals to nourish the Siberian
Wolfhounds. English teacher Oğuz Hamiş explained that
"volunteer students put their leftovers in containers at the school.
Our students' understanding of social responsibility is increasing
because of this and we are the first school in Turkey to get a
certificate in this regard. We are ready to help people and animals
in need. The dogs are very happy with us."
