On the bright side, could be a new hand-sign sensation...
In Kahramanmaraş, Tülay Bülbül (39), the mother of 5 children, got
her right hand caught in a mincing machine on 6 November, losing
the tops of her two middle fingers. Bülbül was taken to the Sütçü
İmam University Health Treatment and Research Hospital for an
operation.
After the operation, Bülbül's neighbor came to visit her and said
that the tops of her fingers had been extracted from the mincing
machine by the responding health workers and taken to the hospital
in the same ambulance that Bülbül had ridden in. But when the
surprised Bülbül went back to the hospital she was told that her
finger tops had not been brought to the hospital.
...sort of like this one.
Consequently, Bülbül filed a suit against Dr. F.V., who operated
on her, and other hospital officials. She explained that "my fingers
were capped in the operation and I was discharged with a
painkiller and antibiotic. My finger tops came out of the mincing
machine and were taken to the hospital but they were lost in the
emergency room. My finger tops could have been reattached to
my fingers. Now the use of my hand has been reduced by 50%."
