Operation SnowPooch
Food for 150 street dogs stranded in the snow on Elmadağ Mountain
in Ankara was air-dropped from a fixed-wing aircraft belonging to
the Turkish Air Council (THK). THK General Secretary Rafet Yavuz
explained that "we dropped 350 kilograms of healthy food to
places which had been previously identified, with our plane. So we
feel like we have done our duty to the community and provided
protection for the animals."
Mission Accomplished!

The 7 Wonders of Karabük
When Emrah Özçelik put out his garbage on Anafartalar Street in
Kayabaşı hamlet of Karabük province, he noticed 7 puppies in
a cardboard box next to the dumpster. After that, Özçelik watched
over the puppies in his basement for a week and sent pictures of
the dogs to animal-lover Elif Emine Alipek.
Alipek took the puppies to a veterinarian and had them innoculated.
Özçelik explained that "they were cold because, of course, it's
wintertime. I gave them dog food but some of the puppies wouldn't
eat it so I made flour soup for them." Alipek, who is well-known as
an animal-lover, said that "we found a shelter for them and I'll
have them looked after there for a month, during which time we'll
hopefully find good families for them."
