Karabaş to AFAD trackers: "Send me in, coach!"
In Adapazarı, Alzheimer patient Mehmet Güler (85) went missing 42
days ago. Efforts to find Güler have so far been unsuccessful. But
recently, Güler's faithful dog Karabaş, who went missing the same
day Güler did, returned home and has seemed to be trying to indicate
that he knows where Güler is.
Based on the chance that Karabaş can lead rescuers to Güler, AFAD
(search & rescue) has put a GPS device on the dog and are tracking
Karabaş's movements in the surrounding woods. Güler's son Ali
Osman Güler says the family believes that Karabaş will lead them
to Güler.

Dilaver has suspect in-hand but not de-clawed.
On 27 January two women customers came into Ahmet Dilaver's
GSM shop in İlkadım district of Samsun province. During an
argument that developed between the women and Dilaver over a
tablet, one of the women kicked a street cat that Dilaver looks
after. In response, the cat scratched the woman's face (!).
The woman filed a suit against Dilaver, which resulted in Dilaver
being sentenced to 2.5 months in jail for "neglectful wounding".
The sentence was converted to a fine. Dilaver, a dedicated cat-
lover, lamented that "she was the one who kicked the cat and
incited it. I'm not the cat's owner. I just give it food."
İlkadım is within Samsun city district.
