In October 1989, Turkish Airlines (THY) pilot Selahattin Sivri said he
saw a UFO while on a Zurich-Antalya flight. Sivri has passed away.
He described what he saw from the cockpit of a Boeing 727 as follows:
"We were flying at an altitude of 11,000 meters (33,000 feet) and all of
of a sudden I and my two crew mates saw an apartment-sized, egg-
shaped object next to us on our left, emitting red, blue, green and vivid
white lights. At first we thought it was a plane. Ten minutes later this
mass of lights was in front of us. It was a few times bigger than a
normal airplane. The Istanbul tower said they didn't see any such
object, but then we saw it rise to 15,000 meters (45,000 feet), splashing
light all over, turning into a ball of white light and disappearing above."
Sivri's account was talked about for days back then.
Happy trails to the Final Frontier, Selahattin Kaptan.
