In Derinkuyu district of Nevşehir province, middle school student
Berat M. (13) committed suicide with his father's rifle in the bath
tub.  Prior to his death, Berat had been playing 'Blue Whale' on his
computer.

The day before yesterday at around noon in the village of Özluce,
Esra and Halil M. returned home after casting their ballots on
election day, only to find their son Berat covered with blood in the
bathtub.  Berat had shot himself with his father's hunting rifle.  The
investigating Gendarmerie team found 'Blue Whale' on Berat's
computer and other violent computer games on his cellphone.

'Blue Whale', which has become a threat to young people all over
the world, has caused a number of deaths in Turkey.  In Adana,
Emine Karadağ (13) took her own life on 21 January; in Istanbul,
the suicide of Burak K. (16) was blamed on 'Blue Whale'; in
Trabzon, Ahmet Kağan (16) became a victim of the game on
12 November 2018; in Bursa, Ahmet P. (16) killed himself after
playing 'Blue Whale' with a friend on 19 February; in Balıkesir,
E.A. (10) hung himself on 3 March; in Samsun, M.A.O. (12)
committed suicide; in Ordu, İbrahim Can Duman (17) and in
Isparta, Osman Çelik (15) ended their lives because of 'Blue
Whale'.  The Russian-origin game drags young people to
suicide with its ever-increasingly dangerous instructions.
