No regrets.
Swedish climate activist, 16-year-old Greta Thunberg's portrait has
been painted on the wall of an apartment building in Kadıköy, Istanbul,
as part of the Mural Festival there. Thunberg, who has created
worldwide awareness of the climate crisis by starting a school boycott,
is now a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Thunberg's portrait was painted on a building on Mustafa Mazharbey
Street in Kadıköy's Göztepe neighborhood by Portuguese mural artists
Mr. Dheo and Pariz One. A photo of the mural was shared on the
Turkey social media page of 'Fridays for Future''s with the message
"Greetings to Greta Thunberg and all climate activists from the streets
of Kadıköy." Young climate activists are organizing an event in
Kadıköy in concert with the 'Global Climate Strike' to be held around
the world on 20 September.
Greta's in good company, with Washington D.C.' Marilyn.
