At this low price, instead of 'island hopping' go 'island
shopping'!
The asking price for an island in the Gulf of Gökova in Marmaris
that belongs to a Turkish businessman living in the USA has been
reduced from $210 million to $145 million. 381,000-square meter
Karaca Island is situated in Otluk Bey, opposite Sedir Island and
the Turkish President's vacation residence.
Karaca Island was offered for sale over the internet on 22 September
for $210 million. There are three buildings on the island, each of
which is between 50 and 100 square meters in size. The island is
zoned such that restaurants and a marina could be built there for
day-trip tourism.
Uğur Özcan of Bosforce Real Estate in Istanbul, which is handling
the property, stated that credit would be considered for the purchase
of the island. The asking price was reduced by $65 million on 23
November "because the owner wants to sell it as soon as possible",
according to Özcan.
