Hopefully, at the aprés ski party they'll feel better.
Ramazan Seylan, the father of 9 children (!), raises animals near the
Palandöken Ski Center in Erzurum. When two of his calves became ill
and the roads were blocked by snow, Seylan came up with a unique
solution to get his sick calves to a veterinarian: he split a large plastic
jug in two, wrapped the animals in blankets inside these 'sleds' and
slid them down the ski slope to the vet.
Needless to say, skiers on the slopes were suprised at this sight and
many of them stopped Seylan for 'selfies', while their children petted
the calves. At the bottom of the ski slope, Seylan's friend was waiting
with a vehicle to take the calves to the vet.
Begs the question: Why aren't there TUMS for calves??!!
Seylan explained that "our house is right next to the ski center. I had
to get the two calves, who were stricken with diarrhea, to the vet. So
I split the jug, put one in each half and pulled them slowly 1.5
kilometers down the ski slope."
Palandöken Ski Center is just south of Erzurum city.
