Whistleblower's lament: "No good deed goes unpunished!"
About 6 months ago, the Kahta State Hospital called for bids for a
plaque screw removal set and a motorized boring and cutting set.
However, orthopedic and trauma expert Dr. Şevket Ergun Güzel
objected to the exorbitant prices listed for the sets and succeeded
in having the call for bids canceled.
According to Dr. Güzel, in retaliation the secretary to the hospital's
head doctor beat him for having had the call for bids canceled.
Consequently, Dr. Güzel filed charges with the public prosecutor
and said on social media: "The prices in the contract opened for bids
by the head doctor's office were outrageously high. I noticed that
they planned to buy a 40,000 TL (about $6,000) plaque screw removal
set for 90,000 TL. So I was able to have the contract call canceled."
In case you were wondering...when plaque screw removal becomes
necessary you need a plaque screw removal set of tools. And maybe,
just maybe, your brother-in-law makes them...
"But then I was subjected to 'mobbing' and the call for bids was
announced again. They ended up buying a plaque screw removal
set for 95,000 TL (!). For the motorized tools, which normally cost
4-5,000 TL, they paid 30-35,000 TL (!). The head doctor's secretary
attacked and beat me and medical technician Ayhan B. threatened my
family. I'm leaving this hospital but I don't want things like this to
continue."
Kahta, blue line's end point on the right.
