He Comforted His Swamp-stuck Cow for Two Nights

               Three-Dog Night?  No, Two-Night Cow.

A cow belonging to Mehmet Emin Atasoy got stuck in a swamp near
the Nehir sazlığı (marsh) in Dedeler village, located 17 kilometers
from the Yüksekova district center in Hakkâri province, the day before
yesterday.

Since Atasoy discovered the stuck cow in the evening, and realizing
that nothing could be done until morning, he stayed with the cow all
night long.  At the break of day on Monday, Atasoy's friends came
from the village to help, but the cow's rescue proved to be too difficult
for them.  So Atasoy spent a second night next to his cow (!).


                               Safely back on dry land.

Atasoy explained that "when my cow didn't return toward evening on
Sunday I went to look for it, heading for the marsh. There I saw that
the cow had gotten stuck but I couldn't free it myself so I decided to
keep the cow company all night.  This cow is my sole source of
income."

More friends came from the village yesterday and the cow-rescue
was successful.  Atasoy thanked everyone who helped.
