Gotta pay for the gas somehow.
In Beyoğlu, Istanbul, a person selling watermelons at 5 TL (about 80
cents) per kilo from the front trunk of his Lamborghini luxury car (!)
turned out to be social media 'fenomeni' (phenomenon) Iranian Milad
Hatami (24).
Hatami was arrested in Iran because of his social media postings.
Upon his release from jail, he moved to Antalya with his wife Zeinab
Mehdi and their daughter.
Fortune smiled on those who said "I wish I had a watermelon"
(from a Lamborghini).
Yesterday, on Piyalepaşa Boulevard in Beyoğlu's Hacı Hüsrev quarter,
a person thought to be a citizen of an Arab country pulled his luxury
car over to the curb and began selling watermelons from the front
trunk of his Lamborghini, drawing great interest from passers-by.
However (!), when the watermelon-seller noticed reporters filming
him he unloaded the watermelons onto the sidewalk and drove away.
After some digging, reporters determined that Hatami was the
watermelon-seller. He and his wife have become social media
'fenomeni' in Turkey because of their videos showing their luxury
cars and mansion-like homes.
There are many ways to contribute to society. This
isn't one of them.
