"Beat & Release": The Movie - 'Dying to Divorce'

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 30 November 2021)

                                        A plethora.

English director Chloe Fairweather and her friend Sinead Kirwan have
made a documentary film about violence directed against women in
Turkey entitled 'Dying to Divorce'.  The film will be England's
candidate for 'Best International Film' at the Oscars.

The inspiration for the movie, which began showing in England this
week, happened when Fairwether was in Turkey making another film
and met Arzu, who had been shot by her husband because she wanted
a divorce.  Also in the documentary is the story of Kübra, a TV
presenter who can barely walk and talk now as the result of her
husband's violence toward her.

İpek Bozkurt, a lawyer for the 'We Will Stop Murders of Women
Platform' and one of the platform's representatives, Ayşen Ece Kavas,
also discuss the matter in the film.  In conjunction with the UN's
'16-Day Activism Campaign' in the struggle against violence towards
women, the film opened in cinemas in England on 26 November.

Cosmic-Scale Bad Luck If This Mirror Cracks

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 29 November 2021)

Careful! Or it's 7 light-years of bad luck.

The 4-meter diameter mirror for the East Anatolia Observatory (DAG)
being built on the 3,170-meter high Konaklı Karakaya hills passed its
final optic tests in Moscow and was shipped to Erzurum the day before
yesterday via a Russian military aircraft. The mirror was then loaded
with great care (!) onto a TIR (tractor trailer) for the trip from the
airport, with a police escort, to the observatory construction site.

Prof. Dr. Cahit Yeşilyaprak explained that prior to climbing to the site
final checks were being made.  He noted that "we've completed about
one-third of the transport.  We'll have to go slower on the mountain
road because of the sensitive equipment we're carrying.  On the other
hand, snow has started falling up there so we have to hurry up, too.
Once we get the mirror to the site, we'll continue installation work in
June."

After a 5-hour journey, the telescope's mirror was placed in the DAG
warehouse on the hilltop.

                             Weightwatchers take note.

Schizophrenic H.E. (39) went to the Lunapark Family Health Center in
Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır province for an examination, during
which Dr. Aziz Tanelçi suggested that H.E. "should lose some weight"
to alleviate her chronic discomfort.

Taking exception to the doctor's advice, H.E. attacked him with a knife,
wounding Tanelçi in the arm and shoulder.  Additionally, she stabbed
the stretcher and chairs in the examination room to shreds.  Other
hospital workers were able to restrain H.E. until the police came to take
her into custody.

H.E. explained her psychological problems and medicines to the police
before being transported to the Elazığ Mental Health and Illnesses
Hospital for 20 days of observation.  Tançeli's condition was said to be
good.

TNT Road Rage Edition: Baseball Bat Threat to Woman Courier in Ankara

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 25 November 2021)

                               In the on-deck circle.

In Ankara, Esra Nur Olgun (20), a university student and part-time motor
scooter courier, got into a right-of-way argument with the driver of a
car with plate number 06 DUF 13.  The driver first punched Esra hanım
on the helmet she was wearing and then took a baseball bat from his car
to threaten the young woman.

Other drivers were able to intercede and save Esra hanım, who recorded
the attack on her cellphone.  She explained that "he cut me off so I honked
my horn.  Rather than apologize, he got angry, shouting 'the road is mine!
You, move to the side!'  He noticed that I was a woman.  Ultimately, he
grabbed a baseball bat from his car.  I didn't take my helmet off thankfully
or else his punch would have hit the side of my head.  The other drivers
held him back and then he left.  That guy should not be allowed to drive."

Strangers in the night... it turned out so wrong for strangers
in the night...

In Istanbul, a thief took a beating from a woman whose purse he stole.
Then, his own phone and money were stolen by a passer-by as the thief
lay on the ground. (!)

Qatari citizen Al Fehaid Saad M. met Lina Samira B., a Moroccan with
French citizenship, at a nightclub in Beyoğlu, Istanbul.  Returning to the
woman's hotel, the two argued in her room and the Qatari took her purse,
rushed out of the hotel, only to fall down the steps.

As Al Fehaid Saad M. lay on the ground Lina Samira B. caught up with
him, kicking him and spitting on him until a hotel worker brought her
back into the hotel.   Subsequently, a taxi came by and the passenger
alighted, seemingly intending to help the dazed Al Fehaid Saad M.
Instead, the taxi passenger took his cellphone worth 15,000 TL (about
$1,400), $1,100 in cash and 600 TL.  The (second!) thief fled on foot but
was later apprehended by the police.

She'd like to see him write with his own blood this time.

Nurtaç Canan (46), was shot 5 times by her husband of 23 years
Ragıp Canan on the night of 4 June 2020 in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul,
when she said she wanted to divorce him.  Lying in her own pool
of blood and expecting to die, Nurtaç hanım wrote a note on the floor,
saying that her husband had shot her.

Nurtaç hanım's son Furkan found her and brought her to a hospital,
where doctors were able to save her life.  Police tracked Ragıp bey
to a house in Esenyurt and arrested him. The public prosecutor
charged Ragıp bey with crimes that called for 39 years in prison.

This possible sentence prompted  Ragıp bey to grab a pen and write
a trove of 20 love letters (!) to Nurtaç hanım, declaring his love for
her and asking her to withdraw her criminal complaint.

However, Nurtaç hanım returned most of the letters without even
reading them.  She said that "In the letters he's saying how much he
loves me and asking me to forgive him and withdraw my complaint.
He wrote 'let's go on from where we left off.'  He's using emotional
blackmail to get another chance to shoot me and finish the job he
started.  I gave the letters to the court. He ruined my life.  If they
give him the death sentence, I'll be the one to pull the chair out from
under him.  If they give me the chance to retaliate I'll shoot him 5
times.  He's nothing to me since the day he shot me and no part of
my future.  A tyrant cannot be shown mercy so I hope the court
doesn't."

                                So much for recycling...

On 29 October, police in Istanbul raided a car dealership in
Gaziosmanpaşa, seizing 78 blank-shooting guns, 80 revolver sliding
bolts and 4 machines used for making guns.  Three people printing
fake license plates were arrested.

In another raid in Küçükçekmece, 71 revolvers were seized and 2
people arrested.  The latest police raid occurred on 12 November,
with 7 people arrested and 1,129 revolvers seized - 91 of them
unlicensed and 1,038 of them blank-shooting guns being converted
into bullet-shooting guns.

These "kullan-at" (use and lose) guns are used in crimes and then
thrown into the sea.  Since their cost is just 2,000-4,000 TL
(about $200-$400) they are the preferred gun-of-choice for criminals.

The storyboard for the action film they hoped to star in.

In Istanbul, H.C. runs a shoe store with his brother in the Aymakoop
Shoe City shoemaking center. On 15 October, at around 8 o'clock at
night, H.C. got in his vehicle and set out on his way.  However, about
200 meters into his drive, two motorcyclists came up alongside him
and one of them said to H.C. "you hit my foot, pull over and we'll go
to the hospital and the police station."

H.C. didn't notice anything wrong with the complaining motorcyclist
but he nevertheless said in reply "OK, follow me to the hospital."  Yet,
it wasn't long before H.C. realized this was a trap, as the motorcyclists
on his left side opened fire, breaking his vehicle's left window.  The
attackers cut off H.C., who tried to reverse course but was hit in the rear
by a minivan.

One of the motorcyclists then entered H.C.'s car, putting a gun to his
head and snatching a bag containing $45,000, 23,000 Euros and a check
for 1.5 million TL, before fleeing the scene.

Police reviewed video footage from the 20-kilometer route the attackers
escaped via and captured hardened criminals Ali Altan (23) and Syrian
Mahnmoud Alkadour (19).  The owner of the motorcycle, A.Ü., was
arrested in Esenyurt, Istanbul.  The motorcycle was seized along with
the helmets and shoes the motorcyclists wore. Altan and Alkadour were
jailed and A.Ü. was released after giving a statement.

A GPS chip was attached to a stork named 'Number 5', the offspring of
'Yaren', a stork that became famous for her years-long friendship with
fisherman Adem Yılmaz in Lake Uluabat, Bursa.  'Number 5' left Bursa
in August, two months after birth, and flew with a stork flock across
Turkey and the Mediterranean Sea to Jordan, where the GPS signal was
picked up again.

Subsequently, 'Number 5' flew to Chad, staying there for a month.  Now,
the GPS signal has been tracked 'Number 5' to western Sudan, where the
GPS signal of another stork, named 'Klippi', has also been detected.
'Klippi' was given a GPS chip in 2018 by German researchers in Pörnbach
and followed across Turkey toward Africa but the signal was then lost.
The day before yesterday, though, 'Klippi''s signal appeared in a location
very close to 'Number 5''s in western Sudan.

Nature photographer Alper Tüydes said that "Klippi was last seen in Bursa,
where we took its picture.  For two months there was no signal detected
but now a signal has come from Sudan, where 'Number 5' is also."

"Beat & Release": Cowardly 'Samurai Warrior' Kills Woman Because 'A Man Would Resist'

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Milliyet Newspaper, 11 November 2021)

                    Hopefully, the very last Samurai.

Başak Cengiz (28) worked as an architect for an Ankara construction firm
and came to Istanbul's Ataşehir district for a two-month project.  The
evening before last, as Başak hanım was heading back to her hotel at
about 7 o'clock she was attacked on Karanfil Street in the Barbaros
neighborhood by Can Göktuğ Boz (27), wielding a 75-centimeter (30
inches)  'Samurai' sword that Boz plunged into Başak hanım's midsection
15 times. (!)

Police quickly tracked down Boz at his house, where he met police
with a Samurai sword in his hands, threatening to kill them, too.  But
police overpowered Boz and took him into custody.  They found 16
swords and knives in Boz's home.

In his statement to police, Boz explained that "I was influenced by the
Samurai films I've seen on TV so I wanted to try it out myself.  I
started using drugs when I was 18 and five years ago I was treated at
a hospital on the European side of Istanbul for 17 days for drug
addiction and memory loss.  On the day of the incident, I was agitated
and depressed.  I did it on impulse.  I thought that it would be easier
to kill a woman because a man would resist.  I didn't know the victim.
When I saw her I followed her and took the sword I'd bought over the
internet out of my bag, sticking her four times.  Then I went home and
felt sorrow and depression. I regret what I did."

Boz's mother Ayşe Nejla Yomraloğlu, a lawyer, stated that "He's had
psychological problems since he was 14. I've observed myself that
he has mental problems so I'm asking that he receive treatment while
in custody."

As for Başak hanım, she was due to finish her temporary assignment
in Ataşehir and return to Ankara on Saturday.  Her father Avnş Cengiz
said that "My daughter left work a bit late and missed the bus to the
hotel so she walked.  She was eating the roasted chickpeas she'd bought
as she was walking.  They say the killer is insane.  I just hope he gets
what he deserves and doesn't get away with it."

Five years ago Karabük University inaugurated an open-air museum
and statues depicting Turkish street games from years past like "uzun
eşek", "birdirbir", "körebe", "seksek", "misket" and "ip atlama"
were included.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Refik Polat responded to questions that have
been raised about the cost of the statues.  "These are games played since
our childhoods and the new generation is unaware of them.  So our aim
is to show these games anew, in connection with Turkish customs, culture
and traditions."

Declining to give cost details, Dr. Polat said it was also important to
use these statues to inform African and other foreign students at the
university about Turkish culture.

"Beat & Release": Victim's Footprints Tripped Up Murderer, in Tokat

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 7 November 2021)

Taking this advice, İbrahim bey solved his own murder.

On the morning of 20 October, İbrahim Altay (70), the married father of
four, went to his house in Büyük Yaylası in Bozçalı town in Reşadiye
district, Tokat province.  That same evening, citizens found Altay stabbed
to death about 100 meters from his neighbor's house.

The Gendarmerie formed a special 85-member team to solve the murder.
The investigators noticed bare footprints near Altay's body and by
following the footprints backwards the Gendarmerie came to the home
of Şenel Kandemir (56).  Altay had run from there after being stabbed by
Kandemir, who was taken into custody, along with his wife Ayşe and
children Emrullah (19), and Ömer (32).

Under questioning, Kandemir confessed that he killed Altay because he
suspected he was having an affair with Ayşe hanım.  Kandemir was then
jailed, as were Ayşe hanım (!) and their three children for assisting in the
murder.  After Altay was stabbed in Kandemir's home, he managed
to flee barefooted to the nearby point where his body was found.
Meanwhile, the Kandemir family members washed down their house
and burned Altay's bloodstained clothes, blankets and sheets left in the
house.

"Autocorrect" Defense in Alimony Case Denied Judge's Charity

In Bursa, M.K. sent his estranged wife S.K. 300 TL (about $30) each
month via internet banking as alimony but in the "remarks" box M.K.
wrote "sadaka" ("charity") instead of "nafaka" ("alimony").  Taking
exception to this, S.K. had her lawyer have measures against M.K. taken
for failing to pay "alimony."  (!)

In his defense, M.K. claimed that he had indeed paid alimony but "I was
a victim of my telephone's autocorrect function that changed "nafaka" to
"sadaka" each time. I didn't write "sadaka" on purpose."

The court, however, ruled in favor of S.K., saying that the word "nafaka"
must be written when accompanying the alimony payment.  M.K. was
ordered to send the money again.

Mt. Everest Turkish Climber Taken Hostage by Helicopter Company "Rescuers"

high-altitude scam click here for a 2019 New York
Times article on this swindle.

How's the air up there? Looks expensive.

Turkish lawyer Merve Bakdur passed out while climbing Mt. Everest,
was put on a helicopter and opened her eyes in a Katmandu hospital,
where she learned that she owed the hospital and the helicopter
company $7,500.  Unable to pay the helicopter company's $6,000
fee, the company took Merve hanım hostage.  It turned out that the
climber guides and the helicopter company run this scam all the time
against foreign tourist-climbers. (!)

When Merve hanım reached Everest's base camp, the change in altitude
made her pass out so the guide called for a helicopter right away.
At the Katmandu hospital, Merve hanım quickly regained her health but
was slapped with a $1,500 hospital bill and the helicopter company
demanded $6,000.  The insurance company supposedly covering
Merve hanim's trip declared that her coverage did not include these bills.

Merve hanım explained that "the insurance company's officials were at
the door of my hospital room saying 'we saved your life so you have to
pay us.'  When I told them I didn't have that kind of money they said I
couldn't leave Nepal without paying.  Anyway, leaving just $100 in my
bank account, I paid the hospital bill.  The guide and helicopter officials
were waiting for me at my hotel room.  They got physical with me and
took my telephone.  When I said I'd call my family for the money, they
gave me my phone back and threatened me again: 'if your family doesn't
send the money they won't ever see you again.'" (!)

Merve hanım's family got in touch with the Turkish embassy in New
Delhi and the honorary Turkish consul in Katmandu was enlisted into
the matter.  The consul persuaded the helicopter company to reduce
their bill to $3,000.  Next, Turkish Airlines (THY) got involved and
despite more threats from the helicopter company, Merve hanım got on
the THY plane and returned to Turkey on 1 November.

Rockefeller & Rothschild Clans Flock to Diyarbakır for Mystical 'Illumination'

modern-day illuminators click here for TNT
reporting on the recent visit to the other side
Turkey by the Gates-Bezos billionaires.

Where have we seen this before?...

According to the reporting of Milliyet's Songül Hatısaru, these days in
Diyarbakır there is a very different kind of tourism wave.  Private planes
keep coming one after the other carrying the third generation members
of the Rothschild and Rockefeller families, UN officials and ambassadors
to see the Mithras Temple underneath the Zerzevan Fortress.

The fortress was built by the Roman Empire in what is today Diyarbakır's
Çınar district.  In the fourth year after archeological excavations and
restoration work began in 2014, the last Mithras Temple in the world was
discovered, prompting the attention of the esoteric world to be directed here.

Mithras's mystery, which is accepted as the forefather of groups like the
Illuminati sect and the Knights Templar, has caught the attention of the
entire world.  According to some people, secret organizations like the
Illuminati were founded here.

R & R families have plenty of these. Coincidence?...

So the Zerzevan Fortress has become part of the tour routes of foreign
tourism companies.  According to the startling numbers put out by
Dr. Aytaç Çoşkun, who is leading the excavation and restoration work
in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Dicle
University: "In 2019, 425,000 people visited the fortress and 69,000 of
them were foreigners.  If there hadn't been the pandemic, we would have
expected that number to have surpassed 1 million.

The Zerzevan Fortress is home to a temple that spawned organizations as
secret as the Knights Templar and Illuminati.  The fortress has been put
on the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List and is a candidate to
become Turkey's second Göbeklitepe.  The temple is normally closed to
visitors but special permission can be given to enter it.  I toured the
fortress with Dr. Coşkun, who noted that "the site of the temple, which
was built 1,800 years ago, was not randomly selected.  All of the
Mithraschi's were astronomers.  On the walls there is the symbol of
the 7 phases of Mithras, each one symbolizing the planets from Mercury
to Saturn."

Diyarbakır is on the family's must-see list henceforth.

Mithras was a mysterious religion of Rome and the temple furthest to
the west was found in London.  The one in Diyarbakır is the one found
furthest to the east of Rome, but it may provide the answer to the Mithras
mystery.  Dr. Coşkun explained that "the temple was built by carving out
the main rock underneath the Zerzevan Fortress.  The symbols in the
temple are those of Rome's mysterious religion and they have survived
until today."

"This temple is the one that best explains the Mithras rituals and it is the
best-preserved temple.  Inscriptions and symbols at the entrance can be
clearly seen.  The Mithras religion was widespread particularly among the
soldiers, merchants and aristocrats of the lands where Rome ruled. The
religious rites were secret and closed to outsiders.  Those who joined the
Mithras religion were required to suffer 12 tortures."

The UN's World Heritage Sites Council ICOMOS's international
scientific committee ICORP is making a documentary series and its
team first went to Katmandu in Nepal.  The second section of the
series will focus on Zerzevan Fortress.  Filming at Zerzevan Fortress
has also been completed for the History Channel's six-part documentary
series.   In addition, National Geographic is getting ready to start filming
and Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman is expected to come to the
Mithras Temple in this regard.

"Twitch & Shout" for 'Cyst Operation' (a.k.a. Breast Implants) Money

türkçe links to original Turkish article

(Hürriyet Newspaper, 2 November 2021)

                            Geçmiş olsun Didem hanım!

Hoodwinkers who collect money by means of emotional exploitation
on social media find new victims every day.  One of these platforms
is Twitch and Didem Şener used it to turn her plea for money for a
"cyst operation" into cash for silicone breast implants. (!)

Şener has admitted to the fraud, explaining that "it was one of my first
videos and I just did it for fun.  My friends and I said let's start a
donation campaign because I was watching 20-30 of them.  I thought
that if I asked for donations for breast implants it would be 'ayıp'
(shameful) so I asked for money for a 'cyst operation' instead. (!)
Was what I did right? No, it wasn't. The fake medical report I used
was a complete 'troll' (joke).  After the 'cyst operation' posting I
changed it to 'breast aesthetics'."

Twitch was established in 2011 by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear
for video gamers to share videos.  It is a lot like Youtube.  Users
can do live broadcasts and collect donations from their audience.
'Twitch' was bought by Amazon in 2014 for $970 million.  According
to an advertisement in July 2020, Twitch has 7.5 million active users
who are watched 15 million times each day. The monthly total is 140
million viewers. (!)
