amazing arrival in Jordan.

When we last tracked "Number 5", the baby stork that left Bursa's
Lake Uluabat to migrate, the bird was in Jordan. After leaving
there, "Number 5" reached Chad over the course of 10 days. (!)
Nature photographer Alper Tüydeş explained that "'Number 5',
the youngest of mother 'Yaren's five offspring born at Lake Uluabat
this year, has traveled 4,500 kilometers and traversed 8 countries
in one month. We have now tracked the bird to the Mourtcha region of
Chad."
"Most of this year's storks haven't migrated yet. But 'Number 5' joined
an early migrating flock. It has a solar-energy tracking device attached
and is flying with the instinct inherited from its mother, who has gone
back and forth from Africa a number of times. We don't yet know what
'Number 5''s route will be after Chad. The birds at the head of the flock
lead the way. We expect that 'Number 5' will come back to Turkey at
some point, like its mother."
Proud parents celebrate the news.
