Please be very specific when you order, to avoid mayhem.
In Bağcılar, Istanbul, a delivery of 'börek' (flaky pastry filled with
cheese or ground beef) to a residence ended in bloodshed. The incident
began when a resident called the Karadeniz Pide Shop to place an
order. The shop worker who brought the take-out order to the home
was confronted by the homeowner and his son who claimed that the
order was wrong.
An argument ensued and turned into a fight, with the father and son
beating up the delivery man. In response, the shop worker stabbed
both father and son and fled. A relative of the father saw the stabbing,
grabbed a pump-action rifle and sprayed bullets all over the pide shop.
In turn, the shop workers attacked the rifleman with bats.
