In Adana, it has turned out that the death of Serdar Ağırağaç (41),
whose body was found at the beginning of the week, was the result
of a love quadrangle (!). The incident began with the discovery of
Ağırağaç's body in an orange grove in Hadırlı village on 4 December.
He had been shot in the head and neck.
Police focused on Ağırağaç's former girlfriend Emine T., who works
as an assistant to a company director. 17 years ago Emine T. married
Osman Ç. and the couple, who had two children, a boy and a girl,
divorced 5 years ago because of financial strains. Subsequently,
Emine T. began living with Ağırağaç but left him for Nihat Yıldırım,
whom she met on the internet.
Serdar Ağırağaç, on one of his happier days.
Ağırağaç was enraged by Emine hanım's departure and he warned
her to "come back or I'll kill you and your children!" Afraid for her
family's safety, Emine hanım explained the situation to ex-husband
Osman Ç. and to her current boyfriend Nihat Yıldırım, telling Yıldırım
that Ağırağaç was her older brother who was threatening to kill her.
At this point, Osman Ç. and Yıldırım teamed up to pursue Ağırağaç on
behalf of Emine hanım. First, Osman Ç., accompanied by İhsan B. (23)
and Gökhan K. (26), found Ağırağaç and alerted Yıldırım that they had
him in their custody. Yıldırım told the Ağırağaç's kidnappers to take
him to the house in the Hadırlı neighborhood, where Yıldırım shot
Ağırağaç as he tried to flee. Yıldırım then threw the body into the orange
grove.
Police took Emine T., Yıldırım and 5 others into custody, while Osman Ç.,
disappeared. Yıldırım confessed to the murder and Emine hanım was
given house arrest (!). The 5 others were released under judicial
monitoring.
