Sheep charged under 'olfactory camouflage' statute.
In Adana, narcotics police at the Incirlik Park location in Sarıçam
district became suspicious of a minibus towing a trailer. Police had
driver T.E. get out of his minibus and both the minibus and the trailer
were searched. The one sheep in the trailer was removed, as well.
Police then searched the trailer amid the sheep's food and feces,
finding 60,000 narcotics pills and 9.450 kilograms of powdered
drugs. Suspect T.E. claimed that he was just bringing the sheep to
Adana and didn't know anything about the narcotics found (!).
Nevertheless, police determined that T.E. was hoping that the
aromas (!) produced by the sheep would throw off sniffer dogs.
Gang members all bleated 'guilty'.
