What if all the carpets fly at once?! ATC's nightmare...
In Antalya's Döşemealtı district, known as 'north star', carpets are
put out on the fields with the arrival of July. Since the humidity
level is low compared to Antalya city and the strength of the sunlight
is more intense, the colors of the carpets turn to pastel shades.
...and a rug-merchant's dream.
Hundreds of hand-made and machine-made carpets are first washed
in sterile pools and then laid out in a broad field for 1-3 months,
after which the carpets are sold in Turkey, Europe, Iran and
Afghanistan. Each carpet has a special motif and the new pastel
shades created by solar power are striking.
