There's gotta be a trucker screenplay waiting for him in the USA.
Tolga Karel, who used to play bad-boys that women couldn't resist
in a number of Turkish TV series, moved to the USA two years
ago. When things didn't go well in America for Karel he started
to drive tractor trailers. The once-famous actor says that "I'm working
honorably to support my family."
Karel married Sarah Scotti two years ago and settled in the USA.
Last year he became a father for the second time. Karel first started
working in the health tourism sector but that didn't go well so he
began driving a truck. He's endured some teasing on social media
from his former fans but explains that "I didn't come to America to
act, I came to start a new life."
Once upon a time, Turkish stars played truck drivers.
Becoming a truck driver is no mean feat, according to Karel:
"Truck driving is a serious profession here. You have to take 14
separate tests to get a CDL license. It's as hard as becoming a
pilot. The work is tough. Sometimes I'm away from home for
a month. I carry million dollar cargos so there's a big risk, but
the pay is good."
