Mudslinging & More at the Notary Public

     Fatma hanım muddies the waters at the notary public.

In the incident that occurred at a notary public in Şişli, Istanbul, 3
people were injured, including one policeman. On 2 January, Fatma
Çamur (whose surname means 'mud') came to the Beyoğlu 42nd
Notary in Şişli with her son Güven Çamur, her daughter and Orhan K.,
with whom Fatma hanım's daughter has lived for 5 years.

As notary S.E. was taking care of Fatma hanım's affairs, her son Güven
suggested something but  S.E. warned him that this was illegal.  An
argument ensued and turned into a scuffle between Güven bey and S.E.,
who promptly called her policeman husband A.E., who was nearby. 
When A.E. arrived on the scene, a fight broke out and Fatma hanım,
Güven bey and A.E. were all injured in the row, with Fatma hanım
suffering a broken foot and A.E. broken fingers.


                       Worn out after all the excitement...

Orhan K. left the notary but returned soon after carrying a knife, with
which he threatened S.E. and her staff.  In the end, Güven bey was
taken into custody by police and Orhan K., who was being sought by
the police anyway (!), was booked.  Fatma hanım filed a complaint
against A.E. and explained that "I came to the notary to sign a power
of attorney and I was supposed to write 'I have read this' and then sign
it.  But when I couldn't write because of my poor eyesight, the notary
began screaming at me and both I and my son told her not to scream
at me.  Then she called her policeman husband, who came and beat us
up."
