Not quite intravenous but pretty close.
Yesterday, on a tip police stopped a car with license plates
06 FS 3761 (Ankara) driven by Besim S., at the entrance to the
city of Kırıkkale. Police determined that Besim S.'s alcohol
'promil' reading was 3.44 (! the legal limit is .50, meaning 50
milligrams of alcohol for every 100 milliliters of blood.).
In a search of the car, police found a 5-liter container with rakı
(sort of the national alcoholic drink for Turks - like Greece's
ouzo.) in it, with a tube extending to Besim M.'s driver's seat.
It turned out that he had been stopped numerous times before
for drunk driving and his license had been taken away 9 times.
It has now been revoked until the year 2049 (!) and Besim M.
was fined 14,000 TL (about $2,500).
