'Siri', the good enabler.
Ali Konuk (40) was paralyzed from the neck down 15 years ago
because of a traffic accident in Kahramanmaraş. Doctors gave
Konuk 2 years to live but thanks to Apple's 'Siri' assistant, Konuk
is still living his life and has a Youtube channel called 'Yatan
Adam' (Bedridden Man) with 38,000 followers, to boot.
Konuk was working as an electrician in 2004 when he was injured
in a traffic accident and, as the result, was confined to a bed without
the use of either his arms or his legs. Konuk began to pass the time
watching movies until he became aware of 'Siri'.
Now Mom can get back to having some fun, too.
He explained that "after meeting 'Siri', a lot changed in my life.
People in my situation can't do anything themselves and have to rely
on others. But with 'Siri' I can call my friends anytime, send messages
and receive them. My mother had been stuck at home with me but now,
thanks to 'Siri', she has begun to enjoy her own social life again. 'Siri'
and other voice assistants have given patients like me renewed hope."
Help for those who've lost more than their keys...
On his 'Yatan Adam' Youtube channel, Konuk broadcasts live and
chats with some of his 38,000 followers.
