where St. Nicholas (a.k.a Santa Claus) lived in the 4th
century A.D.
I'd turn back if I were you...
During excavations in Antalya at Myra Antique City and its port of
Andriake, a "black magic" object in a lead envelope within a lead
casing was found, something never before encountered in Anatolia.
The round lead case surrounding the contents is pierced in four places
by bronze wires. X-rays cannot penetrate the casing so archeologists
remain mystified by the object.
Hmmmmm...
Evidently, the contents of the case were intended to be hidden forever,
leading researchers to suppose that the contents are dangerous "black
magic". Prof. Dr. Nevzat Cevik, who has led excavations at the site
since 2009, explained that "inside the 5.5 centimeter-diameter casing
is a lead envelope. The lead casing has been pierced in four places
by bronze wires. In order not to damage the object we have not
opened it but neither can we assess the contents with x-rays because
of the lead. It seems to us that the object was designed never to be
opened, suggesting to us that the contents relate to dangerous "black
magic". We think that there is something in writing within the lead
envelope."
