Taxi Driver Takes Saudi Customer for a Ride

Driver E.C. and customer A.N.M. en route, circuitously,
to the airport.
Saudi Arabian citizen A.N.M. got into a taxi driven by E.C.
in Kadıköy, Istanbul, and asked to be taken to Sabiha Gökçen
Airport, which is on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. However,
E.C. headed for Istanbul's northernmost point and crossed
over the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge to the European side
of the city (!).
E.C. then crossed back to the Anatolian side and reached
the airport at 20:50 hours for A.N.M.'s 21:15 flight. Needless
to say, A.N.M. missed his flight but paid the extravagant fare
on the taxi meter. He then filed a complaint against E.C.,
who in his statement to police claimed that he didn't know
the way to the airport and mistakenly took the bridge to the
other side of the city. (!) E.C. now faces a jail sentence of
between 3 and 10 years for violating the trust of his customer.
We'll get there when we get there...
