Embiye hanım seems to have had a target on her back.

In Adapazarı district of Sakarya province on 2 January, 

Embiye Karagöz (64) was walking in a crosswalk on her way 

to a Koran course when she was hit by a car driven by M.D.

Passers-by came to Embiye hanım's aid but 5 minutes later

a car driven by M.G. crashed into the group and Embiye

hanım was once again hit (!).  She was rushed to Sakarya Training

and Research Hospital, while the two drivers were taken into

custody by police.

In Çayırova district of Kocaeli province at one-thirty in the

morning last night, Emre Öztürk and his older brother Muhammet

Öztürk couldn't find a parking spot in front of their house so they

parked across the street.  

However (!), a neighbor across the street objected to the brothers

parking there and shot each of the brothers with a revolver.  Medics

arrived at the scene but could not save Emre bey, who died at a 

hospital.  Muhammet bey was said to be out of danger health-wise.

Police are looking for the shooter, who fled. 

 

"Beat & Release": Four Drunken Goons' Insolence Leaves Baby Girl Fatherless, in Antalya

              She'll root for Beşiktaş in Dad's stead.

At about 1 o'clock in the morning on 2 January a minibus

transporting workers from a hotel in Antalya's Aksu district

collided with an automobile in which F.S., M.D., M.A. and

H.S. were riding.  These four drunken goons demanded that

the minibus driver refrain from calling police to the scene

but when he insisted a brawl ensued between the goons and

the hotel workers. 

One of the goons attacked the workers with a knife, striking

and killing İsmail Takdir Kirişçi (36), a hotel bartender and 

the married father of a baby girl.  The 4 goons fled but were 

later apprehended by police.

                                           Whoops!

A Cessna 172N training airplane belonging to a private flight

academy took off from Süleyman Demirel Airport in Isparta

yesterday at 0935 hours and then landed at Uşak.  At noon,

the plane took off from Uşak and headed for Çardak Airport

in Denizli but experienced engine trouble over Çal district.

The plane's pilot made a hard landing in a vacant field at

Höyük in İsabey village , where a shepherd tending his herd

saw the crash and alerted authorities.  Pilot Şükrü Yiğit 

Devebacak was found injured inside the upside-down plane

and rushed to Çal State Hospital for treatment.

                   Just some wholesome New Year's fun!

Prior to New Year's Day the website "Kinky Turkey" (!) shared

sex-based videos and sold tickets for a party.  A police operation

on 28 December at an address in the Hasanpaşa neighborhood of

Kadıköy, Istanbul, resulted in 25 individuals being taken into 

custody.  A search of the premises yielded 2 whips, waist

and back corsets, a cage, leashes, belts, masks, ropes, a 

"BDSM" yoke  (!) and other "fantasy" items. 

23 of the individuals were released but the two organizers -

Tolga T. (33), who has a police record of 4 crimes, and Laden

S. (29), who has two - were arrested and charged with making

obscene publications involving animals and deceased people. (!)

In his defense (!), Tolga T. "explained" that "The social media

site belongs to me but the postings are from another date.  I

was jailed because of  another party 45 days ago and didn't

share any obscene videos after that.  On 28 December about

25 friends joined me and Laden S. at my home to socialize

but not for any sexual activities.  When the police came we

were eating dinner.  As for the whip they found, that's 

something I use in my personal life (!). The other things may

have been the property of the guests who came.

Laden S. said he lives in the same building and just 

happened to be at the party, but that he wanted to make

sure that Tolga T. didn't let any kind of sexual garb or 

objects be used during the festivities. (yeah, sure)
