Only their hairdresser knew for sure...or so they thought.
Teams from the Immigration Directorate got a tip that illegal aliens
were being held in a "şok evi" (shock house) in Tuzla, Istanbul, that
the migrants entered through a secret passageway in a hairdresser's
shop. (!)
A raid was conducted last Monday on this "şok evi", the last gathering
point for illegals on their way to Europe. The raid team entered through
the secret passageway and found 4 Afghans living in unhealthy
conditions. The Syrian hairdresser M.H.A. and the building's owner
A.G. were taken into custody. A.G. was fined 18,018 TL (about
$1,200) and released. Hairdresser M.H.A. and the four Afghans were
turned over to immigration officials for deportation.
