Proud of the fact that a dog couldn't do this.
In Daday district of Kastamonu province, a cat frightened by
a pack of street dogs sought refuge at the top of a telephone
pole but got stranded there. Local residents heard the cat's
cries and alerted the fire department.
The frightened cat made things especially difficult for its
would-be rescuers by trying to bite them. In fact, one of
the firefighters was bitten slightly. Ultimately, though, the
cat was rescued and disappeared once on terra firma.

Predictable outcome: gun beats knife every time.
In Kastamonu, Hayati Gömeçci was killed by his neighbor
Tahir S. (51). The two neighbors, who live in Yukarı Kuyucak
village, had previously argued about the issue of going to the
city from the village by minibus. Subsequently, Tahir S. sold
his minibus.
Nurturing this enmity, the two encountered each other on the
street yesterday and began to argue. Allegedly, Hayati Gömeçci
pulled out a knife, while Tahir S. drew his revolver. Gömeçci
was hit by three bullets in his leg and chest and was pronounced
dead at the hospital. Tahir S. fled but was later picked up by
police.
