Terror Edition: Maybe We're Just a Bit Too Nervous

           Teddy Bear or Teddy Bomb?

In Bolu, a teddy bear left on the wall outside a miltary installation
caused a panic.  When the bear was noticed lying between the bars
of the fence of the facility on Hükümet Square the alarm was
sounded and the are cordoned off.  Bomb disposal experts arrived
and placed a fuse inside the bear.


In the nick of time, mom saves Teddy from certain death.

Just at this time a woman named Vildan Saka arrived at the scene
and told officials that the teddy bear belonged to her daughter, who
dropped it on the way to the hospital.  Police checked the security
camera footage to confirm Saka's story and the fuse was removed
from the teddy bear.

  No gas, no plates and a no parking zone.

In Konya the night before last, police were alerted to a car without
license plates parked under the Marangozlar High-Speed Train bridge.
Police immediately sounded the alarm and all train runs were canceled.

At this point, though, Hakkı Yaldız (27) arrived on the scene and said
he was the car's owner. Yaldız explained that "when my father ran out
of gas he left the car here. We had taken the plates off to get it ready
for painting."  Nevertheless, police towed the car to the impoundment
lot and fined Yaldız.

If they were terrorists instead of idiots they'd get more respect.

In Tekirdağ's Malkara district, Engin Sezer and Tayfun Cesur had a
road accident.  They flagged down a passing vehicle in which Kenan
Gül and his nephew Abdullah Barış Üstünel were riding.  Sezer and
Cesur then stabbed Gül and Üstünel, stole their vehicle but crashed it.
The two suspects were taken to a hospital for treatment.


Malkara district is in western Tekirdağ province.
