132 haneli bu köyde oturan herkesin soyadı 'Sarı' - Haber
There's no COVID allowed here, only yellow fever.

In the 132-house village of Yazlık in Ordu's Perşembe district,
everyone has the same last name: "Sarı" (which means 'yellow' in
Turkish).  Consequently, in order to distinguish one person from
another, nicknames are employed by the locals but confusion reigns
with regard to official business and the mail.

Ordu'nun Yazlık Mahallesi'nde herkesin soyadı Sarı
                          One very exclusive graveyard.

Village chief Ismet Sarı explained that "our grandfathers came here
from the same family in Rize so that's why we all have the same
surname.  There are no strangers among us, everyone's related.
But sometimes this creates problems, like when the Gendarmerie
is looking for "Ahmet Sarı" and there are ten of them.  So they all
have to go to the police station and have the matter sorted out by
means of their mother's and father's names.  Among ourselves,
everyone has a nickname."

Perşembe nerededir nereye bağlıdır? Perşembe hangi ilin ilçesidir ...
Perşembe (which means 'Thursday'!) is just west of Ordu city.
