"Did you lose something?"
In Bursa,S.K. (26), who has lived with Tolgahan Toktaş (25) for five
years and has two children with him, was being forced into a taxi at
knifepoint by Toktaş when Demirhan Haber Agency (DHA/Demirhan
News Agency) reporters Derya Evren and İsmail Hakkı Seymen were
passing by.
In an effort to save S.K., Derya hanım took the knife from Toktaş's
belt (!) and succeeded in putting S.K. in her own car until the police
came. Toktaş noticed that Seymen was filming him so he cried out "I'll
break your legs!". However, when police arrived they determined that
Toktaş was wanted for other crimes and took him into custody.
Derya hanım gave the kitchen knife she took from Toktaş's belt to the
police. She said that "if we had passed by ten minutes later we would
probably have seen the attacker murdering the woman."
As for S.K., she noted that she had filed complaints against
Toktaş seven times for physical abuse. In any case, this time Toktaş
was jailed on charges of "intentional wounding" and "threatening with
a weapon." Reporters asked him "do you regret what you've done?",
to which Toktaş replied "God willing, you'll suffer the same fate."
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
