Open prison's "Saran Wrap" walls couldn't hold him.
Serhat K. was arrested for a murder a year ago but the day he was
transferred to an "open" (low security) prison he escaped. He was
recaptured but declared that he escaped in order to kill two more
people (!).
In April 2022 in Kütahya a firefight erupted between two groups in
front of a bar, during which Ali Üyüklü (43) was killed and four others
wounded. Ferhan M. and Serhat K. were arrested and on 28 December
2023 Serhat K. was transferred from the Kütahya T-type "closed" (high
security) prison to an "open" one, from where he escaped the same
day (!).
Prison officials are re-thinking wall design...
Police discovered where Serhat K. was hiding and nabbed him while
he was trying to flee from a balcony. With him, Murat Berkant E. (30)
and Ayşe D. (26) were taken into custody, too. Serhat K. was planning
to kill Burak T. and Metin T., who were on the other "team" during the
clash in April 2022. In a search of Serkan K.'s hideout police found
3 unlicensed revolvers, 104 bullets, some illegal drugs and 10 narcotic
pills.
