School daze.
In Kadıköy, Istanbul, the service bus for Koç Private Elementary School
was picking up children in the Zühtüpaşa neighborhood early yesterday
morning when a person knocked on the driver's window, supposedly
warning the driver about flat tire. However (!), when the driver got out
to check the "good samaritan" hopped in the driver's seat and sped off
with the vehicle and the children inside.
The schoolbus driver flagged down a passing motorcycle and tried in
vain to catch the highjacked schoolbus. He then called the police.
Meanwhile, the hijacker unloaded the adult hostess and the children
in Göztepe and the vehicle was later found abandoned in Pendik.
Hostess Müzeyyen T. said in her statement to police that "he said to
me I don't care about you all, I just need the vehicle. A bit later he let
us get off the schoolbus."
