The guys show up after tea...



Years ago a land dispute erupted between the people
living in Bogaz hamlet, comprised of 22 houses with a
population of 150 located about 40 kilometers from Mus,
the provincial capital, and the villagers of Yelalan, two
kilometers from Bogaz.




When one person from Yelalan died in a fight the dispute
turned into a blood feud.  The residents of Bogaz hamlet
can only reach Mus via a road that goes through Yelalan
and they're now reluctant to take that route.




Consequently, men and women, young and old in Bogaz have
grabbed their shovels and undertaken to build a new 4.5 kilometer
road to connect Bogaz with the village of Karabey. Ziyaeddin
Kaya of Bogaz explained that "we can't send our children to
school. We couldn't use that road in the winter. We had a rough
time taking our women to the hospital on sleds. When the
authorities proved helpless we took the task upon ourselves.
There's a blood feud between us and Yelalan so we can't use
that road. At the very least we'll open a tractor road. We're
working from early morning till evening."

      What? You can't do this?

People who saw a dog riding on a motorcycle in
Bodrum, Mugla province, were amazed. Someone
took a picture with their cellphone, at the Gumbet
intersection on Kibris Sehitleri Boulevard, of the
dog riding in back of the driver.

Holding on to nothing at all, the dog looked around
at the scenery as the motorcycle sped away from
the photographer.  The canine's upright position was
quite interesting.

Rather becoming, actually, Mustafa bey.




Mustafa P.(30) and Nazende K.(29) fell in love in the German city
of  Hagen and after a few months they decided to get married in
2012. However, as the marriage preparations went forth, Nazende
learned that Mustafa already had a wife with whom he married in an
'imam nikahi' (religious common law) ceremony.




Her life in shambles, Nazende planned her revenge. Nazende explained
the situation to two relatives who agreed to take part in the plan.
Mustafa was summoned to Nazende's house and immediately set upon
by the two relatives. Nazende first directed the attack and then had her
accomplices dress Mustafa in the wedding gown she had purchased for
the wedding.




With her relatives holding the 'bride' Mustafa in place, Nazende took
pictures and then shared them with friends on Facebook. The resulting
comments from viewers seriously embarrassed Mustafa, who sought
relief in court.  Nazende and her henchmen were tried for 'infringement
of personal rights, personal injury and damaging one's honor.'




Mustafa's lawyer Jorg Tigges declared that "my client didn't don that
dress voluntarily! He was forced to wear it!"  After two years, the trial
concluded with Nazende and her two accomplices receiving fines of
300 Euros each. Nevertheless, Nazende had no regrets, observing that
"He deserved it. He was lucky to get off so easy."

Election victory ends badly for Village Chief


There was quite a battle on Election Day, 30 March,
between Village Chief Mehmet Yuksel (42)  and his
rival Huseyin Karalar in the Bulbuldere neighborhood
of  Torbali. In the end, Yuksel, the married father of two
who has been chief for two terms already, prevailed.


As  a fireworks display signaled the victory, Mehmet
Karalar, the nephew of the defeated candidate, expressed
his displeasure by hitting Yuksel with a tire iron. After
treatment for a head wound at Torbali State Hospital,
Yuksel was released.


Subsequently, Yuksel and Mehmet Karalar met up and
got into a fight. Karalar pulled out his licensed revolver
and shot Yuksel six times, seriously wounding the Village
Chief in the chest.  Yuksel was pronounced dead at the
hospital, as his wife and 13 year-old son grieved.


Mehmet Karalar fled but  was captured and taken into
custody by the Gendarmerie.

2 Too Cute Pets Gone Missing

Teacher S.K.(43) wanted to buy a Pomeranian Boo
breed dog for her 8 year-old daughter on her birthday.
S.K. saw an add on the internet that promised that
"we'll let you own an animal free" but when she
spoke with a representative on the phone it turned out
that the pet wouldn't come without payment.




Nevertheless, the representative sent S.K. a photo of
the dog by email. The Pomeranian Boo dogs cost as
much as 3,500 TL in pet shops but S.K. was able to
get 'Halil' to reduce his price from 600 to 500 TL. S.K.
agreed to send 'Halil' half right away and the other half
when the dog arrived.




'Halil' told S.K. to send the money to a bank account
in the name of' 'Onur Ugur', which S.K. did. However,
after doing so she was unable to reach 'Halil' again.
S.K. said that she cried until morning and explained
how she had been hoodwinked: "Every time I spoke
with 'Halil' the puppy was making sounds in the
background. When my daughter pleaded 'mommy let's
get it' I said OK and sent the money."




The homeland of the Pomeranian Boo breed dogs is
eastern Germany-northern Poland.

In Dutlu village, Artvin province, 8 year-old Melek
Kayadibi found a kid goat on her birthday and raised
it for two years. Five months ago, however, the goat
was taken from her. Melek, who named her goat Charlie,
has not been able to get her pet back.


Melek and her older brother Aykut Kayadibi (20)
are participating in Artvin Days being celebrated in
Feshane. She explains to everyone that "when we
found the goat we were in the summer pasture. Our
dog brought it to me. The goat had a wound on its
hip and my brother, who's a veterinarian, treated it.
When it came to us it was very young. I took it to
our home, wrapped it in blankets and put it by the
stove. We spent two years together and its my
dearest friend."


"But five months ago a team from the animal shelter
came while I was at school. They said there had been
complaints about the goat so that's why they took it
away. If they abandon it or hurt it I will feel the pain."

Turkish Boy, in Utah (!), Finds 1K Skeleton

What a Turkish boy in Utah might find...


In the U.S. state of Utah, 14 year-old Ali Cem Erturk found
human bones and a skull while digging in the garden of the
home he lives in with his family. Upon examination it turned
out that the bones and skull belonged to a native American
who lived in the Utah region 1,000 years ago.


Erturk said he was digging a pool in the garden to raise fish
when his shovel hit a hard object.  Officials stated that they
had rarely encountered a child's skeleton from the period in
question and that research would continue to check whether
or not there are other remains in the area.

FEMEN Keeps Erdogan Abreast of Developments

Looks like FEMEN sent the B Team to Istanbul



Members of the Ukraine-based womens rights group
FEMEN disrobed at the Burhaniye Elementary School
where Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cast
his votes in recent years. Two FEMEN members, with
'Ban Erdogan' written on their bodies were summarily
removed from the school.




The FEMEN members had come to the school at noon
and loitered about the entrance, collecting announcements
from the village chief candidates. After chatting on their
phones the two entered the school and went to the teachers'
room where voting box 2148 was situated.




Standing about as if to vote, the FEMEN members began
crying 'Ban Erdogan' and took off their coats and blouses.
They jumped up on a table, kicked the ballots onto the
ground and threw some of them into the air.




At this point, police and election workers entered the room
and dragged the FEMEN members to another place. Three
squad cars arrived at the school and the FEMEN members
were bought out, amid the taunts of waiting voters. Some
citizens kicked them and others wanted to lynch them.



The two women were said to be French citizens and staged
the protest to criticize the ban on Twitter.
