TV's Wholesome 'Village Girl' Ties One On

Letting off steam after a long day feigning innocence.

The TV show "Guzel Koylu" (Beautiful Village Girl) is filmed
in Bozuyuk town in Yatagan district of Mugla province.  Su
Kutlu (24) plays 'Sude', the lead character.  One night recently at
around 1 AM, after drinking alcohol, Kutlu was told that the bar
she was at in Mugla was closing, but she refused to leave.

Kutlu harassed the other patrons and eventually tried to leave
the bar with a bottle of liquor to drink on the street.  Told that
it was forbidden to take liquor out of the bar, Kutlu kicked and
punched a waiter, and then cursed and insulted the bar workers
as she was forcibly removed.



  So wholesome and innocent on the set...

Subsequently, Kutlu called police and claimed that she had
been beaten.  She was brought in for a health exam and found
to have a blood alcohol level of 1.99 promil.  At the police
station Kutlu filed complaints against the bar workers. However,
police reviewed the video images from the bar and determined
that Kutlu had refused to leave, tried to take a bottle of liquor
out of the bar and kicked and punched a waiter.

The video also showed that Kutlu was ejected from the premises
by another waiter.  The bar owner filed his own complaint against
Kutlu for slander and said that "This bar has been here for 40 years.
We never have noise or fights. We advised her of our rules but she
was drunk and out of control.  The video proves us right"

What happens in Argentina, stays in Argentina...one hopes.

In Argentina, a farmer named Jose Alberto (58) had a heart attack
while making love to a scarecrow upon which he had put a wig
and lipstick.  Alberto's body was found when the smell of it led
to its discovery.  A sex toy had been tied to the scarecrow's waist.

                       Hmmmmmm...

Ahmet Oztel, who lives in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, has adopted the
rooster his children brought home 10 years ago, like his own
child.  Oztel works as a driver for a bakery and takes care of
Behlul, the rooster, himself, feeding him corn, wheat  and greens.

When the weather is nice Oztel goes to the park with Behlul.
He explained that "I leave him on the grass and he comes with
me when I barbecue.  If you give me half of Istanbul, I still
wouldn't part with Behlul."

Behlul has become the mascot of Oztel's neighborhood. "When
I come home from work in the evening, Behlul and I walk to the
coffeehouse and then we have tea with my friends. Sometimes
we play 'okey' (a board game) together there."

Anthrax Panic Fades to Romantic Sand

          "I got all dressed up for nothing?!"

Powder in a letter sent from the USA to a woman in Konya
caused an 'anthrax' panic but it turned out that the powder
was beach sand.

As postal workers at the PTT distribution center in Selcuklu
district were sorting mail, they noticed 'powder' in a letter sent
from a person in the USA to a woman named Z.A. in Konya.
PTT officials immediately notified the Chemical Biological
Radiological Nuclear Command (KBRN), which sent a team
of specially outfitted experts right away.

The KBRN team came to the PTT distribution center, set up a
perimeter and put the unopened letter in a box to inspect it.
Meanwhile, two PTT employees who handled the letter were
taken to Selcuk University Hospital as a precaution.  Eventually,
the powder in the letter that had caused the 'anthrax' panic was
determined to be beach sand.

It was later learned that the sand had been sent to Z.A. by her
sweetheart.



Selcuklu district is where the Konya provincial capital is 
located.

Age Hasn't Mellowed This Killer

               Eastern Anatolia

Last Tuesday, Hasan Huseyin V. (HHV, 70)  killed a person in the
middle of the street in Malatya.  It turns out that HHV had been
convicted of injuring his wife and was on leave in Malatya
from Trabzon Minimum Security Prison.

On 31 March, in the Barguzu section of Malatya, HHV shot his
friend, retired worker Mehmet Canturk (62) with a revolver. HHV
fled the scene but was soon taken into custody by police.  HHV, who
walks with a cane these days, was involved in the murder of a woman
in the 1970's.  However, he was able to take advantage of a mass
pardon and was discharged from prison at that time.

Four years ago HHV attacked his wife with a knife and was sentenced
to 10 years in jail.  After serving part of the sentence in prison in Rize,
HHV was moved to the jail in Trabzon. He was able to get a 5-day
pass (!) and went to Malatya four days prior to the murder incident.
He was planning to return to Trabzon by bus at 1800 hours on 31
March but the murder changed his plans.

On the day of the incident HHV went to his good friend Canturk's
house and had coffee prepared by Canturk's wife, who is suffering
from cancer.  Canturk was at a coffehouse at the time so HHV took
a taxi to the coffeehouse and told the taxi driver to summon Canturk
from the coffeehouse.  When Canturk emerged, there was an argument
and HHV shot Canturk.

Canturk had given HHV money and a telephone while HHV was on
leave from prison in Malatya.


Get yourself a 5-day pass and go kill somebody.
 

Dead Mayor Walking: April Fools!

Mayor Alicik makes defiant 'live' appearance at cemetery.

Ramazan Ozkok works at the municipal health directorate in
Nazilli district of Aydin province (but for how much longer?).
Yesterday he posted the following message on his Twitter
account: "Mayor Haluk Alicik has met his Maker. He suffered
an accident on his way to Ankara. His body will be taken
tomorrow, after noon prayers, from Koca Mosque to
Egriboyun Cemetery."


     Prankster Ramazan Ozkok: "What?"

People reading Ozkok's Tweets began to send condolence
messages for Mayor Alicik but it turned out that Ozkok had played
an April Fools joke on the mayor - who was not amused (!).  An
angry Mayor Alicik declared that "municipal personnel must
show the proper respect toward their bosses. I will start an
investigation in connection with the matter."


Nazilli district is in northeastern Aydin province.

FBI's "Most Wanted" Ratted Out Twice by Ex-Wife

Time on his hands now, thanks to ex-wife's revenge.

Metin Atilan (56), who holds both Turkish and  USA citizenship, faces
65 years in prison for bribing an FBI agent in connection with tenders
for U.S. defense contracts in Iraq. The day before yesterday he faced a
judge in Dayton, Ohio.

Atilan's lawyers and prosecutors reached an agreement for Atilan to
serve 6 years and pay a $1 million fine.  Judge Thomas Rose, who
is overseeing the case, declared that "it will take me some time to
reach a decision on the agreement reached and the prison sentence."
In response, Atilan, who is being held in Montgomery Prison and
who has admitted his guilt, told Judge Rose, "OK. I've got plenty
of time to wait."

Metin Atilan's story is the stuff that films are made of.  For many
years he ran a restaurant at Incirlik Air Base in Adana. Subsequently,
he settled in Las Vegas and got involved in the Pentagon's Iraq
contracts, garnering $40 million in contracts between 2006-2008.
This got the FBI's attention and Atilan was placed under surveillance.

In 2008, Atilan was caught offering a $1 million bribe to FBI agent
Eric J. Miller, who was posing as a U.S. military officer, for a $10
million contract.  Evidence in the case against Atilan includes an
email he sent to Miller: "I want the biggest contract in the world.
Big, big dollars."

While being tried Atilan was under house arrest in Las Vegas but
he cut his security ankle bracelet and fled, becoming  one of the
"10 most wanted" fugitives.  On the run, Atilan first went to
Mexico, then Brazil and later to the UAE.

Last year, while in Iraq on business, he was caught based on a tip
from his former wife (!) and returned to the USA.  In 2011,
Atilan was captured at a restaurant in his hometown of Adana,
also thanks to a tip from his former wife (!!),  but he managed
to get free and was at large until his capture last year in Iraq.


Arrested in Adana in 2011. He'd slip away again...
