Teams from the Morality Bureau of the Adana Provincial Security 

Directorate's Public Order Branch, acting under the coordination of 

the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted an operation 

targeting suspects identified as facilitating prostitution in massage 

parlors and beauty centers across the city.

Following approximately six months of technical and physical 

surveillance, police identified 18 suspects, seven of whom were women.

It was determined that the suspects recruited customers through social 

media accounts opened in the names of their businesses. 

Furthermore, it was found that they sent catalogs containing photographs 

of the women they forced into prostitution to individuals who contacted 

them. In simultaneous raids conducted in Adana, Mersin, and Tekirdağ, 

18 suspects—seven of them women—were detained. Additionally, 11 

women identified as victims of forced prostitution were rescued. 

Catalogue looks innocent enough, but you have to know 

the code...

Financial records revealed account activity totaling 210 million TL 

(about $4.3 million) linked to the suspects.  After undergoing police 

processing, the suspects were referred to the courthouse; 17 were 

arrested by the court, while one was released under judicial control. 

Assets belonging to the suspects—including homes and vehicles valued 

at 14 million TL (about $2.8 million)—were seized, and freezing orders 

were placed on 50 bank accounts.

Menderes Koçak, a resident of the Sandıklı district of Afyonkarahisar 

who had run as a candidate in parliamentary, mayoral, and local 

headman elections over the past 30 years without ever winning (!), has 

passed away.

Menderes Koçak, a farmer residing in the village of Kızılca in the 

Sandıklı district, passed away yesterday at Afyonkarahisar State 

Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment for an illness for 

some time.

The candidacy journey of Menderes Koçak, a father of three, began 

in 1994 when he ran for village headman (*muhtar*). Koçak ran for 

office a total of 19 times—including five bids for mayor of Sandıklı as 

an independent, one for Member of Parliament for Afyonkarahisar as 

an independent, and twelve for village headman—but never won an 

election. Most recently, he stood as an independent candidate for 

mayor of Sandıklı in the March 31, 2024, Local Administration 

General Elections.

"Smuggle & Release": Drug Suspects From Colombia and Mexico Flee in Pilot Uniforms, at Istanbul Airport

Customs teams, suspicious of a passenger arriving in Istanbul from 

Mexico, searched the individual's luggage and seized a total of 26 

kilograms of a white powder—suspected to be cocaine—contained 

in 23 packages. It was determined that two individuals who had 

accompanied the detained person to Turkey were drug couriers and 

had left the airport wearing pilot uniforms (!). While two people have 

been arrested in connection with the incident, efforts to apprehend

 the two fugitives are ongoing.

A passenger identified as O.A.V.F., a Colombian national, entered 

Turkey by passing through the "green channel," which signifies 

having no goods subject to customs declaration. Customs officers

subsequently stopped the passenger within the terminal. A search of 

the passenger's carry-on luggage revealed an area of ​​unusual density 

within a suitcase. A detailed search resulted in the seizure of a total 

of 26,340 grams of narcotics contained in 23 packages. The teams 

determined that the seized substance was powdered cocaine.

Teams examined the footage to identify any individuals who might 

be connected to the case. The investigation led to the identification 

of Antonio Viana Florez and Ivan Enrique De Castro Hernandez as 

persons believed to be linked to the suspects. It was determined that 

Ivan Enrique De Castro Hernandez was wearing a pilot's uniform 

and that both suspects had left the airport. As part of the operations 

conducted in Istanbul, it was found that Hernandez had checked 

out of the hotel where he was staying, and efforts to locate the 

suspect are ongoing.

It was reported that the other suspect leaving the airport, A.F.H.A., 

delivered the carry-on suitcase he was carrying to the hotel where 

Mexican national Roberto Carlos Serrano Astorga was staying, 

and was subsequently apprehended at the hotel. A search of the 

suitcase received by Astorga revealed a white powdery substance—

suspected to be cocaine—weighing a total of 25 kilograms 

and 160 grams.

The seized narcotics were determined to have an estimated market 

value of 206 million TL (about $4.2million). Two suspects were 

arrested as part of the investigation conducted by the Gaziosmanpaşa 

Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, while arrest 

warrants were issued for two other suspects who remain at large.

Derya Çiçek (31)—the injured wife of Mazlum Çiçek (32), who lost 

his life in a house fire in the Efeler district of Aydın—was arrested on 

charges of "intentional killing of a spouse" after being referred to the 

courthouse following her medical treatment. In her statement, Derya

hanım claimed that her husband, Mazlum Çiçek, had locked himself 

in the kitchen, poured fuel on himself, and set himself on fire. (!)

A fire broke out around 04:00 on August 16 in a second-floor apartment 

of a building on 1067 Street in the İstiklal Neighborhood. Upon 

notification, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. 

Firefighters extinguished the blaze in approximately one hour. An 

inspection of the apartment revealed that Mazlum Çiçek had lost his life.

Derya hanım, who was injured in the fire, was taken to the hospital 

after receiving initial medical attention at the scene.

As part of the investigation into the fire, an inspection of the home 

revealed that the door to the kitchen—where Mazlum Çiçek's body was 

found—was locked (!). Additionally, it was determined that Derya Çiçek 

had packed a bag containing valuables before leaving the house during 

the fire. Reports indicated that the day before the fire, she had gone to 

a gas station and purchased gasoline in a canister, claiming, "My husband 

is with the car; we ran out of gas, so I came to get some." (!!)

First (and last) time he ever went into the kitchen...

Expanding the scope of the investigation, the Aydın Chief Public 

Prosecutor's Office ordered Derya hanım's detention. Authorities are 

investigating the suspicion that she poured fuel in the kitchen, set it 

ablaze, and locked Mazlum Çiçek inside.

Derya hanım, who had been receiving treatment at İzmir City Hospital, 

was discharged. Upon being referred to the courthouse, she stated in her 

testimony that she and Mazlum Çiçek frequently quarreled over jealousy 

and that her husband often spoke of wanting to commit suicide; she 

claimed she had gone to the gas station at Mazlum Çiçek's insistence. 

Çiçek said, "Mazlum forced me to go to the gas station and buy gasoline. 

Afterward, he locked the door, poured the fuel, and set himself on fire."

Çiçek was arrested and sent to prison on the charge of "intentional killing 

of a spouse." Upon hearing the court's decision at the courthouse, Derya 

hanım said, "I will never set foot in there; my life is ruined anyway. Don't

peace in that grave; you’ve destroyed my life. I didn't do anything.

Crew members from the cruise ship MSC DIVINA, currently visiting 

the Marmaris district of Muğla, conducted a cleanup operation in the 

Aktaş area to raise awareness about environmental sensitivity. Teams

350 kilograms of cocaine worth 1.5 billion TL (about $31 million!),

hidden beneath a dry cargo ship, were seized at the port of Mersin. 

Nine suspects were detained in connection with the incident.

As part of an investigation launched by the Mersin Chief Public 

Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Mersin Anti-Narcotic Crimes 

Branch and the Intelligence Branch conducted a coordinated operation. 

They determined that narcotics were to be retrieved—with the help of 

divers—from the underside of the hull of a dry cargo ship that had 

arrived at the port of Mersin from Brazil. During the operation, teams 

seized 350 kilograms of cocaine, valued at 1.5 billion TL, contained in 

12 packages hidden in the engine cooling water compartment beneath 

the ship's outer hull. 

Nine individuals—Ö.D.A., M.D., M.S., A.E., Y.T., B.B., E.B., E.Y., 

and O.G.—were detained in connection with the incident. Diving 

equipment and an underwater scooter were also seized during the 

operation. The suspects were taken to the police station for processing.

A cow that tumbled down a 250-meter precipice in the Üzümlü district 

of Erzincan was rescued alive after a six-hour operation.

The incident occurred around 16:30 in the Sarılar locality of the Üzümlü 

district. A report was made to the 112 Emergency Call Center stating 

that a cow had tumbled down a precipice from a steep slope. Following 

the report, teams from the Erzincan Municipality Fire Department were 

dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters don't discriminate.

A rescue operation was launched under the coordination of the fire 

department teams, with support from AFAD and Gendarmerie personnel.

After approximately six hours of dedicated effort, the animal, which 

had been stranded on the precipice, was successfully retrieved alive.

Once the necessary procedures (!) were completed, the rescued animal 

was transported to a safe area to be returned to its owner.

In an incident that went viral on social media and reportedly took 

place in Ankara, a father flew into a rage upon seeing the wedding 

car his daughter was about to board after the ceremony; the car 

bore the inscription "Here comes my maid" on the back. (!)

Unable to stomach the idea of ​​his daughter—whom he had raised all 

these years—being labeled a "maid," the father-in-law confronted the 

groom. The argument reportedly escalated, leading the father-in-law 

to slap the groom. Bystanders intervened to break up the altercation 

before it could worsen.

The dispute over the "maid" label was eventually resolved amicably 

after the groom apologized, explaining that he had gone too far and

15-year-old Muhammet Ali Şimşek, who suffered an injury to his 

right arm in a motorcycle accident in Afyonkarahisar, regained his 

health following an approximately eight-hour operation performed 

by specialists from three different medical fields in Konya.

The right arm of a 15-year-old boy, which was on the verge of being 

severed following a traffic accident in Afyonkarahisar, was saved 

through an approximately eight-hour surgery performed in Konya.

After learning that the right arm of Muhammet Ali Şimşek—who 

had been involved in a motorcycle accident about a month and a half 

earlier—might require amputation, his family conducted research 

and contacted Konya Farabi Hospital.

     Muhammet Ali has that "this is for real, right?" look.

Transferred to Konya without delay, Şimşek underwent surgery 

performed by a team comprising Cardiovascular Surgeon Prof.

 Dr. Ufuk Özergin (the hospital's deputy chief physician), Orthopedics 

and Traumatology Specialist Op. Dr. Yusuf Aksoy, and Plastic, 

Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon Op. Dr. Zikrullah Baycar.

Following the successful operation, which lasted approximately eight 

hours, Şimşek's arm—previously on the verge of detachment—

regained its functionality.

Op. Dr. Yusuf Aksoy told an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter that the 

patient had been presented to them after an accident that left his arm 

nearly severed at the shoulder.

Stressing the importance of urgent intervention and multidisciplinary 

approach in such cases, Aksoy said, "The patient had a near-total 

amputation at the shoulder, multiple injuries to the elbow and hand, 

and a contaminated open wound on the knee of the same side. We 

quickly took the patient into surgery. Teams from plastic surgery, 

orthopedics, and cardiovascular surgery performed the operation 

together. The surgery lasted approximately eight hours and was 

successful. Post-operative monitoring and a multidisciplinary approach 

are crucial following such surgeries."

Prof. Dr. Özergin noted that the patient was discharged in good health, 

stating, "The key factor in the surgery's success was the simultaneous 

repair—without wasting any time—of the main artery supplying the 

arm, as well as the nerves, soft tissues, and bones, by a single team c

omprising three different medical specialties. This approach shortened 

the duration of the surgery and enabled the patient to use his arm 

comfortably without any loss of function."

Muhammet Ali's father, Mahir Şimşek, explained that his son's arm 

had been severely injured in the accident and, upon learning there 

was a risk of amputation, they had come to Konya after conducting 

their own research.  Expressing his happiness at his son's recovery 

following the surgery, Şimşek thanked the doctors.

In Maltepe, a tenant opened fire on his landlord couple following an 

argument. The couple lost their lives in the attack, while a lawyer 

present at the scene was seriously injured. The suspect was 

apprehended by special operations police.

The incident occurred around 13:10 in the Gülsuyu neighborhood. 

Allegedly, the tenant, Mehmet T. (63), opened fire on the landlord 

couple with whom he was arguing. Landlord Osman A. (61) and his 

wife Nursen A. (61) lost their lives in the attack, while a lawyer 

present at the scene, Emir Ali S. (29), was critically injured.

Following reports from bystanders, police, special operations teams, 

and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene. It was reported 

that the suspect, Mehmet T., resisted the teams and fired his weapon

from the building. The suspect was apprehended by special operations 

police.

In a statement regarding the incident issued by the Istanbul Governor's 

Office, it was reported that an argument between a landlord and a 

tenant escalated into a physical altercation on Thursday, September 10, 

2026, around 13:10, on Taşocağı Street in the Gülsuyu Neighborhood 

of Maltepe district. The tenant, identified as Mehmet T. (who has a 

criminal record comprising three offenses related to threats and verbal

However (!), after her residence permit expired two years ago, she was 

sent to Azerbaijan following stays of four and a half months at a 

repatriation center in Ankara and five months at a center in Bursa.

Özfiliz traveled to Baku to be with the woman he loved and spent six 

months trying to arrange an official marriage. The couple finally 

married legally last April, and their marriage was also recognized 

by Turkmenistan. However, Rahmanova became stranded in 

Turkmenistan after returning there to renew her passport.

Stating that his wife has been unable to leave Turkmenistan for 

approximately four months, Volkan Özfiliz said, "Our family 

reunification visa has been approved. Despite this, Turkmenistan 

is arbitrarily refusing to allow my wife to leave."

at the Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital in Kadıköy, 

Istanbul, while a patient was undergoing surgery. As this scandalous 

footage—recorded in an area that requires the highest level of sterility—

sparked public outcry, all eyes turned to official authorities for a 

statement.

Footage alleged to have been filmed at the Göztepe Prof. Dr. 

Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital in Kadıköy, Istanbul, has sparked a 

serious public debate regarding hygiene and safety. The video, 

which has received widespread coverage in the media and on social 

media, shows a mouse moving freely across the operating room floor.

In the footage shared by journalist Timur Soykan on the "Onlar TV" 

broadcast, a rodent is seen scurrying across the floor of an operating 

room—an environment where the highest standards of sterility must 

be maintained—while a patient is undergoing surgery on the 

operating table.

Commenting on the matter during the broadcast, Soykan stated that 

the presence of rodents in such healthcare settings—where the risk

Affiliated with Istanbul Medeniyet University, the Göztepe Prof. Dr. 

Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital ranks among the region's leading

healthcare complexes. The footage recorded at this massive facility—

which boasts a capacity of 600 beds, 27 operating rooms, and 96 

intensive care beds—has raised questions regarding the hospital's 

hygiene standards and inspection processes.

Following the footage that sparked public backlash and raised 

questions about health standards, no official statement regarding 

the matter has yet been issued by the hospital administration or 

the Ministry of Health.

Mesut A.: "It was great fun for a while. Now it's a blur."

Mesut A., an accounting manager in Istanbul who embezzled 122 

million TL (about $2.5 million!) from his company's accounts over the 

years, has been referred to the courthouse along with 19 other suspects—

including his mother, father, wife, and girlfriend. It was reported that the 

suspect, who lost 60 million liras of the funds in casinos in Georgia and 

Cyprus and spent another 5 million on his girlfriend's cosmetic surgeries 

and a house built in her name, stated during police questioning, 

"I have no regrets." (!)

An investigation was launched upon a notice made under the coordination 

of the Public Security Branch Directorate and the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief 

Public Prosecutor's Office. During the studies, it was determined that 

Mesut A., who worked as an accounting manager in a company, 

transferred the company's money over the years, first to his own accounts 

and then to the accounts of his accomplices.

Police teams examined the company's accounts and determined that the 

suspect stole a total of 122 million TL. Fraud Bureau based in Istanbul

carried out an operation in Sinop and Tokat, based in Istanbul, to catch 

the suspect Mesut A. and his accomplices.

A family affair...

Eighteen suspects, including Mesut A., were detained in simultaneous 

raids involving special operations police. The suspects were taken to 

the Public Security Branch Directorate, where they were interrogated 

by the Fraud Bureau.

It was revealed that Mesut A., who is married but in the process of 

divorcing, had a girlfriend; footage surfaced showing him spending 

5 million TL on her cosmetic surgeries, having a house built in her name, 

and enjoying himself with her at nightclubs and casinos. Investigations 

by the teams determined that there was 10 million TL in the account of 

his girlfriend, Ş.Y.

It has emerged that Mesut A. gambled in Georgia and Cyprus, losing 

approximately 60 million TL; among the 19 suspects detained in 

connection with the incident were Mesut A., his mother, his father, 

his estranged spouse, his girlfriend, and his colleagues.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the company owner, upon reviewing 

the documents, discovered that Mesut A. had embezzled funds; 

consequently, the owner fired him and filed a complaint. Additionally, 

legal measures were imposed on 12 vehicles and 5 properties belonging 

to the suspects, and their bank accounts were frozen. In his statement 

to the police, Mesut A. expressed no remorse. The 19 detained suspects 

were referred to the courthouse.

A calf that climbed onto the roof of a house in Aydın's Nazilli district 

was left hanging from the ceiling when the roof collapsed. The animal, 

which surprised the neighborhood residents, was rescued by the 

intervention of fire brigades.

The incident took place in Kırcaklı District of Nazilli district. According 

to the information obtained, the calf climbed onto the roof of the house 

owned by Ali Aydemir for an unknown reason (!), causing the roof to 

collapse due to its weight. The calf got stuck in the collapsed section and 

remained hanging from the ceiling of the house.

Upon notice, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams

Tuğrul Başar, a fugitive wanted since 2018 for three separate prison 

sentences for "theft using an official identity" in Samsun, was 

apprehended in Kadıköy, Istanbul. It was determined that he had 

disguised himself as a woman (!) and used his sister's identity for 

years to evade the police.

Teams from the Fugitive Apprehension Bureau determined that the 

suspect had been disguising himself as a woman to avoid capture. 

Following a surveillance operation, Tuğrul Başar was apprehended 

the previous day. An identity card belonging to his sister was found 

on him, revealing that this had allowed him to evade capture for years.

Tuğrul Başar, who is also being prosecuted for "using someone else's 

identity information," was handed over to the Kadıköy, İskele police 

station for further processing.

Teams Command initiated an operation to apprehend wanted individuals. 

Investigations revealed that Gülüstan Kurt was wanted due to a total of 

64 years and 6 months of finalized prison sentences handed down by 

various courts.

Police teams located the house where Gülüstan Kurt was staying and 

put her under surveillance. Acting while Kurt was live streaming on her

social media account, the teams raided the house. As the live stream 

continued, Gülüstan hanım approached the door and called out, 

"Who is it?" At that moment, one of the people participating in the live 

stream warned Gülüstan Kurt, "Hürrem's door is knocking; don't open it, 

Hürrem!" Kurt's surprise as she looked out the door was captured on 

live television.

After she opened the door, police raided the woman's house. The 

moments when the police entered the house and arrested the woman 

were broadcast live. Meanwhile, another person participating in the 

live broadcast reacted to the situation by saying, "Hürrem is gone. 

They've taken Hürrem's head. They've taken her." At that moment, 

Gülüstan Kurt's phone fell to the ground. Gülüstan Kurt, who picked 

up her phone and ended the live broadcast, was taken to the police 

station.

During questioning, it was revealed that Gülüstan Kurt had 215 criminal 

records (!), mostly for theft. It was determined that she was wanted by 

courts in Istanbul, Bursa, and Izmir for crimes including 'Theft by 

skillfully (!) taking items carried on the person or in possession', 'Theft 

of items kept under custody inside a building', 'Theft of items belonging 

to public institutions and organizations', 'Forgery of official documents', 

and 'Making false statements to the population registry office'.

Following her questioning at the police station, Gülüstan Kurt was 

taken to court, where she was arrested and sent to prison.
